Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a fantastic trip with Belmullet Boat Charters to Inishkea. On the tour our guide Kea shared lots of interesting stories and the history of the island. Afterwards we still had plenty of time to explore on our own. The journey out and back was comfortable with amazing views. Highly recommend a swim on one of the beautiful white sandy beaches

A party of three: myself, my daughter 23 and my teenage son. Wow, that is really all I can say about the whole experience. The prize for me, setting foot on the white sands of the Inishkeas and being taken there by descendants made it extra special.

We felt in safe hands, the boat was comfortable and Kea our guide was so impressive, excellent at sharing her vast knowledge of the area and in particular of the Inishkeas. While there my daughter and I walked to the signal tower at the highest point and marveled at the dramatic vista. We came back via the old road to the harbour we met up with my son who had enjoyed having the turquoise sea to himself, spending his time swimming and jumping into the water from the pier. We all agreed that a return journey is a must and when we do it will be with Belmullet Boat Charters. Thank you, sue

We did this trip last week - six of us in total ranging from 6yrs - 67yrs. Everything about the experience was excellent.

Sean, Kea and Josh were all friendly and welcoming, and Kea was impressively knowledgeable about the area and it's history. We were blessed with the weather and had a great crossing there and back. They were great at pointing things out (such as the shoals of mackerel) and we were lucky enough to see some dolphins!

Inishkea is absolutely stunning. Rugged, green, untouched with white sand beaches and clear water.

If you happen to be in the area I would highly recommend a trip out to Inishkea with Belmullet Boat Charters. We felt we were in safe hands from start to finish.

Great experience from start to finish. Communication was excellent whilst booking. Kea was a great tour guide, friendly and knowledgeable. The island was beautiful and would highly recommend it. Even got to see the dolphins on the way back to Blacksod Pier. Will absolutely use Belmullet Boat Charters again.

Spent a morning on Iniskea with my 9 year old son thanks to Sean, Kea & Josh.
Lovely family, comfortable boat and when we arrived, Kea gave us some interesting insights into life on the islands. Definitely worth a trip (bring your swimmers, just in case !).
Weather is always an uncertainty but if you book online then they will confirm the day before if its going ahead or not.

This was a great trip, well organised by Kea, Josh and Seán who looked after very well. Kea’s guide gave a great insight into life and the history of the island. The boat was very comfortable too. Good value.

My wife, teenaged daughter and I made the trip.
The boat left Blacksod on time and we had a pleasureable trip out with Sean and Kea to Inishkea. They told us plenty about the islands on our way out, including that their family is originally from Inishkea North. Their local knowledge was therefore fascinating.

The ocean waters were calm and it was a lovely sunny day.

On arrival, Kea took us on a walking tour of the largely ruinous houses from the early part of the last century. Her knowledge of the islanders' lives back then, why they left and their stories was impressive.

There is a beautiful unspoilt beach to swim in and lots of rambling around the island possible. There are also fabulous views of the islands, Achill and the mainland once you get out there.

We had brought a picnic too which wasnt a bad idea!

On the trip back, they took us seal-spotting which was a lovely way to end the afternoon.

Highly recommended and great value!

Incredible boat trip to the beautiful Inishkea. Great knowledge & super friendly guides which made for wonderful visit. They could not have done more to help us & with such wonderful enthusiasm. The Island is incredible and it felt so special to be there, the views alone are worth every penny of the trip. A definite visit if you're anywhere near this part of Ireland, don't miss out.

A fantastic trip to the idyllic Inishkea. Sean and his daughter, Kea, were great hosts and Kea's knowledge of, and obvious love for, the island make her an excellent guide. Highly recommend.
