This small shop is a wealth of instruments, recorded music and just a nice place to be. They will help you pick music and even play some. In the evenings they offer "Traditional Music" which is a variety of local artists for a small fee. Irish Coffee is served at intermission. It is a very intimate experience as you are only feet from the performers and there is opportunity to chat with them. Michael is the proprietor and is engaging and accomplished musician himself! We feel grateful to have had this oportunity! Very Well done MIchael!!

Michael is a warm and genuine host.
His shop is filled with music to purchase and nautical themed decor. We had the pleasure of hearing Niamh Varien-Barry & Peter Staunton. They are not to be missed - truly wonderful musicians!

We went to the store for an informal concert and enjoyed every minute. It is interesting how they can turn the store into a venue and back and make it all very entertaining. The Irish coffee was excellent as well!
If you're into music, you need to visit this quaint store while you're in town.

Attended a fabulous concert at the Siopa Ceoil — guitarist and singer/flutist of the highest caliber doing traditional Irish and current folk music. A glass of Irish Coffee at intermission, and a 10 year old Irish dancer completed a grand evening. Take in a session at this store! Worth your while.

We dropped by this music shop as part of our visit in Dingle after reading about its collection of instruments from Rick Steves's book and hopefully getting some information about their performances! My husband is in the music industry and was very interested in the traditional instruments they had on hand. The shop is cozy, with photos and memories up on the walls, and a sleeping cat on a chair near the door where an upright piano stands. The owner chatted with us and after finding out we found his shop via Rick Steves, showed us a video on his phone of Rick playing on that very piano we were standing next to! What a treat!
My husband was interested in the drums and we got an impromptu lesson from the owner, who also brought out his accordion and they played some tunes together that early evening. Got to say - that drum looks difficult to master, look out for it when you're attending performances or listening to a pub band! What a lovely memory, and we were also given a recommendation for Nelligan's later that evening (had an excellent band, especially the fiddler!). Great center of music and culture in Dingle, would love to come again to enjoy an evening concert next time!

If you get to Dingle, don't miss out on visiting Siopa Ceoil an Daingin, the Dingle Music Shop. It is tucked away between two larger buildings. The proprietor is very knowledgeable on local and Irish traditional music in general. There is a cozy fireplace and instruments to purchase along with CDs. They host concerts on certain weeknights at 7pm. Check locally with them. The concerts are local musicians playing traditional pieces. Get there early as the space is limited.

The shop is THE place to go to get true local music CD's, and a guided introduction to CD's and music from all of Ireland. Michael and James are friendly, knowledgeable -- and generous in their offer of Poitin!
If you want to learn about, and acquire some CD's by, Seamus Begley, this would be the spot to do so.
We hear that the concerts are amazing, but we did not have the opportunity/time to sample one.
Located right on the waterfront downtown, next to Murphy's Pub. We were brought here by Des Murphy, but wander in on your own when you are in town.

There’s quite a few traditional Irish instruments as well as music and CDs for sale here, but the real diamond in the rough would have to be the evening concerts. Good music and friendly people.
