Family Tour with Mossie - Just Perfect

After our tour with Mossie ...I'd say we would follow Mossie anywhere! A close friend recommended we contact Mossie about touring our family (8 adults) through parts of Ireland. Mossie drove and guided us from Galway to Kilkenny. We had 4 wonderful days with Mossie; my only regret is that we didn't spend more time with him.
Mossie is brilliant: he's a smooth and safe driver while generously sharing his deep knowledge of history, geography and culture. Mossie must also be a psychologist or a psychic - he "read us" perfectly... he anticipated our need to take breaks...he also guided us to certain spots not on our original itinerary which were far better than we expected. His recommendations for restaurants and viewing spots were 100% perfect; he knew the weather forecast better than all the apps we had available.
And he recites poetry!
Above all, Mossie is a kind, thoughtful and generous man.
If and when we return to Ireland, Mossie will be our first call!

Family Irish adventure

Based on a recommendation from a friend who has used Mossie in the past we contacted him prior to our trip to Ireland. He helped us pare down our original itinerary to a more manageable one. When we met him in person it was like meeting an old friend. He was incredibly personable, had lots of stories and history to share, totally flexible, shared songs and poems with us, and exhibited what I had expected as a true Irish spirit. He was a great driver and his van was perfect for all 8 of us.
We had a great trip and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mossie's Tours to anyone visiting Ireland.

Mossie’s Tours… don’t miss it.

My siblings and I spent 4 glorious days with Mossie.
He drove us from Galway to Kilkenny. We could not have asked for a better guide.
His knowledge of the history of Ireland was fabulous. He entertained us by singing and reciting poetry and is an excellent driver.
He took the time to understand what we were hoping to see and delivered.
Additionally he took us places not on our itinerary but ended up being some of our favorite stops.
Our Ireland trip was amazing and it was because of Mossie Scanlon.
We highly recommend him.

Highlight of our Trip!

I really thought I had already written a review but, I don't see it here - so, sorry Mossie this is so late!

We traveled with myself, husband, mother in law and 20 month old son. We did the half day Dingle Peninsula tour. Mossie was great! He took great care with us and our group of various ages - especially an ornery toddler! We all had a great day out with Mossie and got to see all the things we wanted to see. Mossie is native to the area and has the best life stories that he shared with us along the way. Could not have asked for a better tour or guide. We only did the 1/2 day because of the little one but I would go back for the full day if we return to the area.

Go with Mossie, he will take great care of you.

A Day Tour To Remember

Can’t say enough about my recent tour with Helen in May. My sisters and I did the 4 hour tour of Dingle and then an additional 4 hours where we custom made our itinerary……stopping by the area our grandparents lived. I’ve been to Dingle before, but Helen stopped at places I’ve never seen. Her knowledge of the area enhanced the tour. I didn’t have exact details for the second part of our tour but Helen was patient and took us everywhere we were hoping to see and more. We ended our tour in Killarney. It truly was one of best days of the trip.

The Best Part of Our Trip to Ireland

My mom and I went on a full day tour of the Dingle Peninsula with Mossie in late fall. After travelling throughout southern Ireland, we can easily say Mossie’s tour was our favourite part. It’s truly difficult to describe in words how wonderful Mossie Scanlon is. He was warm, unwavering in his kindness and bestowed unlimited knowledge and history of the area. He lead us to some of the best spots for views/photos, along cliff sides and up mountains, ensuring we were safe on an incredibly windy day on the coast. He was always quick with a great story and educated us on the history of the Irish people and their resilience (he also serenaded us in the van, which was lovely). I would recommend Mossie to anyone wishing to tour the west coast (or anywhere in Ireland for that matter). Thank you again Mossie (and Helen) for a truly unforgettable experience that we will always cherish.

An amazing half day Dingle tour with Mossie's Tours

After arriving in Dingle, I contacted Mossie's Tours in the hope of scheduling a last minute half day tour. I had been unsuccessful after several attempts calling local tour companies. Mossie's tour called me back and put together a last minute 3 hour tour to accommodate me. And what a tour it was. I could not have asked for a better tour. As noted in various previous reviews, Mossie was a tour guide extraordinaire. He is not only a complete expert on the Dingle area and history, he takes a personal interest in you and tailors the tour accordingly. In my case, he emphasized taking my wife and I to the most incredibly amazing Dingle sights so that I could photograph them. The locations visited could only be known and accessed by a guide with the thorough knowledge and history of the Dingle area. I can only provide Mossie's tours the highest rating possible and highly recommend booking with Mossie's Tours to anyone visiting the Dingle area. It really is an amazing experience.

Going to Ireland? Book a tour with Mossie now!

From our initial email inquiry in January until he dropped us off after two days of touring in early May, our time with Mossie was simply fantastic! Touring the Slea Head Peninsula and Ring of Kerry with Mossie was definitely the highlight of our first trip to Ireland. Mossie is a gifted tour guide! He is extremely knowledgeable about his home and shares information in a way that is interesting and even entertaining. What sets him apart from other guides, however, are his “people skills.” He is intuitive and quickly assesses the kind of tour a person wants; he is responsible - you know you can trust him with tour logistics and your safety; and he genuinely seems to enjoy being with you. Mossie is unhurried, engaged, and enthusiastic about his home. When it came time for us to leave, Helen drove us to the train station, and she gave us a warm send-off. What a lovely couple they are! In the future, I will highly recommend Dingle and tours with Mossie and Helen. to my friends who are traveling to Ireland. Heartfelt thanks to both of them for the gift of beautiful memories!

A Special Day with Mossie

My wife and I had some amazing experiences in our 2 1/2 weeks exploring Ireland. However, the absolute best was our day-long private tour of the Dingle peninsula with Mossie Scanlon. Mossie picked us up in the morning at our BnB and spent the next 6 or 7 hours showing us the most remarkable sights of this historic land. At times when we saw a photogenic vista, Mossie, a semi-professional singer, would break into song. He would often stop his van to speak to a local he knew. (Everyone knows Mossie!) At the end of the day, we not only felt like we knew more about Ireland, we had made a friend!

A rare and beautiful afternoon on the Dingle Penninsula
Sept 2022
We join the chorus of strong reviews for Mossie's Tours. In County Kerry for work, we had a weekend free and the great good fortune of booking a half-day tour just a week before. The four + hours we spent with Mossie Scanlon were so much more than simply seeing the great natural beauty of the Dingle Peninsula. We shared stories: learning a ton about Mossie's own history as well as the difficult history of the Irish people, the abundance of their resilience to colonial rule, and their pride in the Republic of Ireland. Mossie shared his gift of song with us and recommended where we could find a great meal and the pub to find a memorable night with a community gathered around traditional music. Thank you, Mossie!
