A chocolate treat for the whole family
Traveled for a week in Ireland with family and Benoit's chocolate making class/workshop was one of the highlights. He made it interesting and fun for both adults and a 7 year old who absolutely loved immersing himself in chocolate. We also learned much about the art and science of chocolate making from an expert. Brought home delicious treats that we made by hand. An experience well worth our while. Highly recommended. Thank you Benoit!!!

    Amazing. Would highly recommend
Took my daughter and her friends for her 10th birthday party. From the minute we arrived and were greeted by the lovely Charlotte to the very end we had an amazing time. Benoit was so good with all of the children and they even learned a few things about science and molecules. They loved getting their hands on the chocolate and making their own bars and lollies. Would highly recommend Lorge Chocolates for a brilliant day out.

    HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND
We cannot emphasize enough what a lovely experience Benoit provided in his chocolate class. From our first inquiries to our departure, everything was just fantastic. Benoit and his staff were friendly, helpful, and engaging. His shop is gorgeous. Benoit was knowledgeable, informative, engaging, patient, warm, and friendly. This activity was perfect for all ages. Our group of 3 ranged from 7 to 82! Benoit knew just when to engage with my 7 yo to keep him interested and engaged. The class is hands on so be prepared to pour, scoop, scrape, mold, and taste! At the end, we went home with generous portions of chocolate we crafted. Lorge is just a few minutes outside of Kenmare and it is a nice break from the crowds on town. Thanks again, Benoit!

This 90 minute chocolate making course was definitely the highlight of our trip to Kenmare. Benoit was brilliant with the children (aged 5 and 6) and as a family we really enjoyed it and learnt a lot too! Would 100% recommend this and best of all you get to take the delicious chocolate home with you. Will definitely come back next time we are in Kerry.

We went here as family of five at lunchtime on a Thursday. We were met by a very friendly woman in a shop with chocolates, different types of jams etc. We then went into their small workshop (could probably fit 7-8 people max) with the chef called David.
He explained the chemical process of making chocolate and showed us the difference even a few degrees in temperature could make. One of the cool methods of cooling the chocolate down was spreading the chocolate over the cold marble which was very satisfying to do!! He showed us the process of making chocolates by pouring it into the molds and scraping off the excess chocolate before we put the filling in and put them in the fridge to set.

We also had a decorating competition where he showed us how all the fancy designs are made and we tried our best to follow!

This was much better then another one we went to a few years ago and I recommend this for anyone - from the age of seven or older. We also left with a bag of all the chocolates we made which was delicious!!!

I went to this chocolatier with high hopes. In fact, my husband and I had headed back to Kenmare just to check this place out. When we arrived I was greeted by the rudest woman I have ever met in my life. I'm actually shocked this person is in customer service. Having looked through the reviews, it seems she's been working here for awhile as others have been met with the same shocking behaviour. If this were the last chocolate vendor on earth, I still would avoid. Really, really bad.

We are dismayed to have to deal with this unbalanced review. We clearly remember you as we asked you to comply with signage and wear face masks as our shop is very small. You refused and we offered to serve you from the doorway. You were far from happy to be refused entry but we need to protect our staff & customers 100%, especially as some of our staff have vulnerable family members. It is shocking that in these worrying times we are exposed to such online abuse.

went to the workshop today with my family including 8 yr old daughter which lasted about an hr and half. Really enjoyable and well worth it. Benoit is so passionate about his work and clearly shows. We all had a few turns in making different kinds of chocolate mounds, lollipops, bars and sweets... which we got to take some home and they were Devine. He gave us so much of his time and really included my 8 yr old daughter in the making of the chocs which she was delighted with.there are tea and coffees available to buy after and also a shop to purchase some more chocs. Located about 20 mins outside of Kenmare town.well worth the visit and something different. Thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend big time.

Enjoyed the chocolate course immensely. Benoit adapted the course to suit us, as our children were participating. He was fantastic with the kids of all ages. Everyone participated in all the tasks. A course not to be missed. The chocolate is divine. Thank you for a wonderful day.

Kids aged 3 years, 5.5 years and 8 (nearly 9) year old, plus two adults.

80th Birthday treat with my family. We had a great time and very 'hands on.' We learnt a lot and each of us really enjoyed making our own Chocolate and enjoyed eating it even more!!

The "Could you say a bit more about it" question, wouldn't let me give an answer.
We were a grown-up family, but there was no option for that.

The four of us went on a chocolate making course in Kenmare, Co. Kerry. The course included making chocolate bars, lollipops marzipan chocolates and chocolate circles. Benoit was very patient even when we made mistakes! He truly is passionate about chocolate and explained how it is made. I would definitely recommend this course to everyone! They also have shops in Kenmare and Bonane in Kerry.

Called in late on a Saturday afternoon. Due to covid only the boss was there. He patiently guided us through the range of chocolates on offer. Complete with warnings of cherry stones. I hate this saying but "OMG"
I'm not a big chocolate fan but these are wonderful.
A must do
