Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was surprised by the interior of this lovely church since we had seen so many churches in Ireland, so what’s one more. However, this one is unique in that the wood ceiling has these carved figures that stand out against the white plaster. Beautiful stained glass windows add to the ambiance. The exterior is also beautiful, set in a lovely square right downtown. Definitely stop by and check it out.

This is one of two churches in Kenmare, St Patrick's, Church of Ireland is the other. This one was consecrated in 1864. It has beautiful stained glass windows and a large Celtic cross outside the main entrance. The timber used in the roof came from the Black Forest in Germany. Weekday masses are at 10am and Sunday it's 9.30 and 12 noon.

We just popped in here quickly because there were a few folks praying, but we were most surprised at how beautiful the place was inside. For some reason the outside led us to believe it wouldn't have as much feeling inside. Definitely worth a quick stop in.

What struck me first about Holy Cross Church was the bright cheerful light inside. Granted we were there on a sunny day, which I hear is not always the case in Ireland, but we were blessed that day, and sunlight streamed in through the lovely stained glass windows. At the particular Mass we attended there was no choir, but the service was nice and the people were friendly. One lady stopped to talk with us after Mass and tell us a little of the church's history.

Our parish church celebrated its 150th anniversary with a High Mass on Sunday, 14 September. The church was beautifully decorated inside and outside by volunteers. For those visiting Kenmare, take time to visit the church and see its beauty.

If you should travel to Dawros on the Beara peninsula, the small RC church in Dawros is also well worth a quick peek.

Holy Cross Church celebrates its 150 years this year. It is a beautiful Church which is of both historical and architectural significance. Above all it is the church for the parish community of Kenmare and it is wonderful to be able to join them when visiting Kenmare.

We happened to walk in when a Christening was taking place which added a bit of excitement to the visit. It's a ideal place just to get a few minutes of peace and naturally if you feel like a prayer, you're in the right place. It's worth a visit and is a really nice Church.

Day#87 on my ‪#‎100happydays‬ journey since Dad passed away brought both Mom & I to Kenmare for the annual August 15th Fair-Day!

This was the church my Nan would bring us as children every w/end we would visit her & grand-dad in Kenmare. I've always kept up the tradition of visiting and lighting candles under the statue to St. Anthony. Both Mom & I went in again today for the day that was in it!

They've recently renovated the interior and moved the candles, but not the statue. The chapel looks beautiful & always well kept.

Thanking All involved,
Beautiful Church

Attended Mass here twice during our week in Kenmare. Liked the later Saturday evening (8p.m.) and the daily Mass at 10 a.m. Lovely inside, very peaceful.
