Mollys is fantastic conception. I am sure it is as authentic a glimpse into the life of a widowed, poor Irish country woman of that era as you could find anywhere . There is no specified charge required but a donation jar is to hand as you leave. I would recommend a vist. Kids would like it as there are... More

Something to do on the way to the next town. We didn't want to drive the Ring of Kerry so this was an option.

Situated on the Kenmare to Glengariff Road Molly Gallivan's is well worth a stop for a welcoming cup of tea and sustenance. There are historical walks which are not arduous and great effort has been expended by the owners to reproduce farming as it was in the 19th Century and the living standards pertaining to the time. Thoroughly recommend a... More

This amazing place has something for everyone: a warm Irish welcome, delicious homemade food and a good cup of tea, a very knowledgeable owner and staff, a gift shop stocked with high quality local knitwear, crafts and souvenirs, and then there is the authentic farm and cottage, beautifully maintained as it would have been in Molly Gallivan's day. The demonstration... More

Stephen & his family supply a warm welcome and are very friendly. We had a wonderful time visiting, exploring farming and life from the past then staying for a home cooked meal. As a host Stephen did a marvellous job, I laughed until my cheeks hurt at his storytelling - it is nice to see a family keeping these traditions... More

Molly Gallivan's is in the middle of nowhere unless you are passing by, but it is worth the trip even if you have to go out of your way. The farm is pretty much as it was when Molly Gallivan lived there in (if I recall correctly) the middle to late 1800's - a widow supporting her many children by... More

We had a great time learning about Molly Gallivan's story, our guide was too funny and had such great knowledge, loved all the animals and especially Guiness the pig! Would highly recommend this stop if in Glengarriff.

A shorter visit than our previous 2 as it was late in the evening, but still a fantastic half hour or so in the company of the charming and welcoming PJ, a new recruit at Molly Gallivans. We called in for an ice cream after an epic drive across The Priest's Leap, a marvel in itself, and were delighted to... More

Nice format for seeing how farming and life was conducted over time many years ago. Prehistoric things incorporated into the tour as the site has been occupied for a very long time.

Our ages ran from 11 years old to seniors and everyone thought it was the most fun evening. The tour of the farm was really informative. The dinner was delicious with a very cozy candlelight atmosphere. They even offered a vegetarian stew too. The show after dinner was very entertaining. Everyone loved the traditional singing and step dancing and some... More
