From the booking until the end of this experience we were met with sheer professionalism and excellence, covid guidelines were strictly adhered to and all information was clear and concise. We got directions on our confirmation email direct to the meeting point. We were given a really informative talk on all our safety equipment and made feel very very safe before even touching the water. Our guide Niamh was nothing short of absolutely amazing. We had what we could only describe as an experience of a lifetime and without Niamh it would not have been the same. She told us stories of Irish mythology in the dark along the islands, under the stars. Her passion and knowledge for the lands and waters around truely made the experience completely and utterly unforgettable. If you have the opportunity to take up this experience I would grab it with both hands. You will not forget this for the rest of your life! Thank you Niamh!

This was our third trip in five years. It was the best yet. From a glorious sunset to sparkling bio luminescence in the night time waters of Kenmare Bay, the evening was a delightful experience. Our guide, Jamie, took time to ensure that the whole group felt at ease in their kayaks, we were given a comprehensive safety briefing and all kitted out in clean and well fitting waterproof clothing. He set the scene for our trip highlighting the sights and sounds of nature as night fell over the bay - telling stories, pointing out stars and constellations, even introducing us to the delights of eating seaweed!
I heartily recommend anybody visiting the Ring of Kerry or Ring of Beara to take the opportunity to book a trip with Emerald Outdoors, you will never forget it.

Our family of four adults had the best experience of our week long holiday. Jamie was an excellent guide who made us all feel safe and at our ease. He was a mine of information about the natural environment and he was lighthearted and witty. The boats were superb and we were all very impressed with the very high level of adherence to the protocols around safety issues to prevent COVID 19 spread. Would 100% recommend this trip.

We couldn’t have had a more tranquil & beautiful morning for our kayaking with Jamie & his team last week. ( ten in the group, aged between 8- 63)
Jamie is fascinating to listen to & has a wide knowledge of the area, it’s flora, fauna & history, & possibly the worst Dad jokes ever!
At times he had us all in stitches & kept the whole group entertained, whilst all the time showing great care & respect for the surrounding landscape & its inhabitants.
We’d definitely recommend this experience & would like to do it again next time we’re staying in Kenmare.

This was AMAZING. We did the night kayak on Friday August 5th and left from Templenoe Pier. The wet gear is brilliant and none of our clothes or shoes were wet when we got off the water.
The bioluminesence was out of this world. I wasn't aware of what it was before going out but I was in awe! Once it was dark the water illuminated from kayaks and paddles and even if you put your hand into the water it lit up. It was like magic! Amazing experience. Myself and my partner are not strong swimmers AT ALL but that wasn't an issue. There is a safety demo at the start and all protective equipment is provided.
We learned loads about the area, lots of old legends were told by our guide, the sunset was amazing from the water and we even had some seals come to say hi.
I couldn't recommend this tour enough. It's not scary at all. Very suitable for kids too. You don't need to be a good swimmer and you don't need any previous experience at all!
I would definitely do this again especially at night and I would recommend you to not only do it if you are in the area but to travel to do it. It was amazing! 100% put in on your list!

We arrived met Jamie and instantly knew we were going to have a great experience.
He took the time ( and it didn’t take that long!! ) to memorise everyone’s name in our group of ten.
He then put the younger ones at ease during his introduction to kayaking.
We followed him around kenmare bay and had a fantastic time getting to know all the facts about wildlife and the many many ways you can introduce seaweed into cooking.
Such a well mannered young man with a great passion for what he does for a living, to the point where it doesn’t seem like a days work at all for him.
Couldn’t recommend this activity enough to families looking for something different or couples Young and old looking for a bit of adventure.

5 of us, all adults, went on the evening kayaking trip with Sinéad as our leader. Safety issues were very well handled and we felt very confident that we were in good hands. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience - both the kayaking itself and the information that Sinéad gave us about the area and the wildlife. We also had some fun! The highlight of the experience was experiencing the world in a new way by being out on the water in the night light. All five of us agreed that we would do it again and are very happy to recommend Emerald Outdoors for their professionalism and friendliness.

Thank you for a fantastic night. Of course, we were very lucky with the weather and the water was mystically calm. Our guides were informative and considerate and we really did zone out for a few hours in Kenmare Bay!! Thank you and we will be back to see the bioluminescence... disappointed not to be able to see that but that is out of your control and it, by no means, took from the enjoyment of the evening. I would recommend this tour especially at night. It’s a good way to switch off and ironically you see and hear a lot more in the dark !! Thanks

Brilliant experience as a first timer to kayaking everything was laid out prior to setting off. Instructions were delivered clearly and support was provided as and when it was required. Throughout the journey the stories flowed and tales were delivered to keenly listening ears. Polite and chatty instructions made for a fantastic experience even if it come down with the odd shower of rain. Highly recommend.

Hi 921julie921, thanks for your question.
All the information you are looking for can be found on our website (see the link above) The paddleboard tours start at 10am but the night kayaking changes based on what time the sun sets.
You can click the orange ‘book now’ button on the website to see what time the tours start on the day that you would like to come. You can also book, pay and sign the waiver for the tour of your choice by clicking that button.
We hope this helps and that we see you on the water soon. If you have any further queries please feel free to email or call us and we will do our best to help.
