What a beach, and so much of it you can walk as far as you like if you want it less busy. Nearby toilets, shops and lifeguards on duty. Parking is a bit chaotic, but other than that a wonderful place to visit.

Lifeguard in summer, plentY of fab pubs... this is the best kept secret. The sand goes on forever and is absolutely breath taking. Gently shelving beach means that this is an ideal place for all to enjoy the sea.
Flahives Bar is wonderful for a coffee, gin. glass of wine or a Guinness. Go and stay... its the very best.

What a beautiful beach unspoiled and a good 5 km walk to black rock and back. You can also climb black rock and see the outstanding views. Breathtaking. I hope Ballyheigue appreciate the beauty they have. Locals lovely and dogs well managed on the beach. No litter except for some of the usual amoebas who had dumped mattress etc in the dunes. I wish them all the karma they deserve.

Otherwise congratulations to the townspeople who can be proud of the work they put in to keep this legacy for tourists.

Fabulous place for a walk/run with an amazing vista as you travel towards Banna. Safe with beach protection during the summer.

I have seen finer beaches with better climates but for an area with lots of cliffs, it is hard to find a sandy strand.

My husband is from Ballyheigue and we visit every year. The beach is always amazing whatever the weather. This year with the sun and blue skies it was outstanding. We walked the length of it several times ( 2 miles each way) At the far end is the Black Rock which is a small island cut off when the tides in. Climb up on it and you have amazing views of Ballyheigue Bay, Tralee Bay and the Tralee and Brandon mountains. Well worth the effort.
