Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing beach with sweeping views for miles. Some jellies (in July), but spectacular views, clean, fun. Icecream truck with crisps, 99s was there - great for kids. Coffee shop near by, pubs, and the Ballyheigue castle golf club just up the way.

Lovely beach but huge amounts of a seaweed, so I am not giving it a 5... I think the Council remove seaweed at some beaches so it's a shame they don't for Ballyheighe.
Good facilities - lifeguard, tap, local shops and cafes, a few nice pubs. Free car park. Public toilets.

This beach is so calming, the fact that you can sit on the concrete without going onto the beach and just listen to the waves rolling in, is just heaven .There are bins and a car park , it’s really clean ,although after some high tides the sea weed might lay on the sand for a day or so until it’s washed out again , long stretches of sand and sand dunes then lovely rounded rocks about a mile on out foams a lovely contrast it’s just a beautiful beach , someone is always swimming and there is a water tape to clean your feet after walking , please take your rubbish home .

We loved Ballyheigue beach although there was a lot of seaweed at one end. The water was clean and the beach busy with holiday makers of all ages.

What a beach, and so much of it you can walk as far as you like if you want it less busy. Nearby toilets, shops and lifeguards on duty. Parking is a bit chaotic, but other than that a wonderful place to visit.

Lifeguard in summer, plentY of fab pubs... this is the best kept secret. The sand goes on forever and is absolutely breath taking. Gently shelving beach means that this is an ideal place for all to enjoy the sea.
Flahives Bar is wonderful for a coffee, gin. glass of wine or a Guinness. Go and stay... its the very best.

What a beautiful beach unspoiled and a good 5 km walk to black rock and back. You can also climb black rock and see the outstanding views. Breathtaking. I hope Ballyheigue appreciate the beauty they have. Locals lovely and dogs well managed on the beach. No litter except for some of the usual amoebas who had dumped mattress etc in the dunes. I wish them all the karma they deserve.

Otherwise congratulations to the townspeople who can be proud of the work they put in to keep this legacy for tourists.
