This was a real experience. The Annaghmare Court Cairn was something we had never been privileged to experience before. It is incredibly well preserved, the turfed roof and some of the stone and the higher section of turf wall have gone, but it remains about 4foot high with the passage and inner chambers clearly in place. This tomb is a well preserved cairn which is not so easy to find. From Crossmaglen take the Carran road. Then first to the right Annaghmare road. From this road, there is a small sign pointing to the court tomb. Beware of the barking dogs and follow the very, very narrow road to the tomb. Next to the tombe it... More
