One of my favourite places to walk in the Peak District. I always start the walk from Castleton. You can either walk along side the road and follow it down to Edale great views easy walk. Or you can walk down the road for 10...More

Visited here today with my husband, 7 year old and 3 month old son. Quite steep in some places so not for the faint of heart of very unfit, though there is a flat path you can travel alongside the road with. Absolutely breath taking,...More

No trip to the Castleton area would be complete without walking through Winnat's Pass. Driving through just doesn't give you the same experience. The walk is fairly easy downwards towards Speedwell Cavern, but tough on the way back. Well worth it though just to see...More

We drove down the pass to Castleton and it was amazing. The views on a sunny day are second to none and it was lovely to have the sheep right next to the road free to go anywhere they liked!

The really spectacular scenery in the Peak district. Lovely but smells sheep will always be there. A little bit too steep to climb the hills, need to avoid touching stinging nettles which are everywhere.

About 1.5 hours on a good day. Wonderful walk. Drop into Speedwell Cavern before you visit Castleton. Enjoy. It’s breathtaking.
