Take a step back in time at the Gwili Steam Railway, a delightful preserved railway just outside Carmarthen in West Wales. Running steam train services every day of local school holidays and selected days throughout the remainder of the year, this is the perfect trip for all ages to enjoy. Experience a typical country branch line from the 1950s with a stop off at Llwyfan Cerrig Station in a beautiful spot alongside the River Gwili.

We had such a lovely day on the steam train. The kids absolutely loved it. Everyone working there was extremely helpful and polite even though it was busy. From the lady in the little tearoom to the conductor on the train. Well worth a visit

Lovely local train brought back to life by volunteers. Train line is now 4 miles following a recent extension so although the pamphlet said the train stops in a picnic spot for 20 mins it does not do so now unless you request this. It...More

We went with our 2 teens (13 and 16) one of which is a bit of a transport nut! All of us enjoyed our time here. The journey is leisurely and we had a whole carriage (think Harry Potter style) to ourselves. Hubby and I...More

Hi there Thanks for the query. As far as we are concerned there is no problem with bringing a little dog. Their fare is £1.50 which you can pay on the day. The only thing is that the Santa trains are usually very busy and... More
