We are always looking for new places to walk the dog, he loved this place and so did we! Stumbling across the war memorial made it even better, a little bit of history on a walk is always a bonus.

Hidden wood in the clouds Have visited Sharpenhoe Clappers day before Remembrance Day, in mid-autumn to discover not only beautiful woods but also a monument dedicated to fallen brothers. "Sharpenhoe Clappers Was bequeathed to the National Trust by W.A. Robertson in memory of his brothers...More

This is a very accessible prominent hill with several tracks through trees and fields. It is run by the NT with a small car park. The views of the surrounding area are spectacular.

The views are the best part of the walk but there's also some lovely trees. Unfortunately when we were there there was quite a lot of rubbish on and off the tracks which rather spoilt the experience.

Nice walk, not much added by being National Trust members! There is a NT car park, but that’s about the only benefit. We were passing through and stopped by and we are glad that we did, although probably wouldn’t make a special trip out for...More

The clappers is a great open space to take dogs and children for a walk. There are stunning views over the Bedforshire countryside on a clear day. Ideal for picnics in the summer

Starting at the car park there are plenty of signs saying which path to take and for how long you wanna take it ( ranging from 1 to 3 hours, if I remember correctly). Lovely walks, keeping to the paths, and all easily signed every...More
