In the Severn valley, Westbury Court Gardens offer a fine example of Dutch garden design. National Trust managed, it has many curiosities and some secret corners too.

The gardens are beautifully laid out, nice to have a stroll around. Lovely welcome, well laid out information area and picturesque gardens - very odd in the back ground that sound form of motor racing went on which destroyed the peace ( and perhaps the...More

We have passed Westbury Court Garden a hundred times and never visited. We thought there was just the pavilion with reflecting pool to see, as that is all you can see from the road. In the 1700's there was a mansion, similar to all the...More

We try to use our National Trust membership wherever possible and we chose this place on our journey. It was really beautiful - plenty on flowers and a big vegetable/herb bed) set around water. It's difficult to describe its true splendour so I've attached pictures....More

We spent a hour walking around this beautiful garden- 50 years since the National Trust assumed responsibility for it. A credit to all the volunteer gardeners who look after it- not a weed to be seen. Dramatic hedge cutting will eventually see the hedges re-juvenated...More

Visited with a young grandchild and her parents and it was a great fun event. A very sweet Easter egg hunt finding bunnies, plenty of nice spots for picnics and a fascinating Dutch style garden. Highly recommended, do enjoy it!

Above all, this is a wonderful place just to be in. There is variety of plants, shrubs, trees and flowers. Each interesting in their own right. Don't miss the Tulip Wood paneling in the Observation Folly. A place to be savoured.

We're staying in Gloucester for a few days later in August. Are NT members so wondered about visiting Westbury Court Garden. Confused about opening times as online and book say 10 - 5 but then "Open Bank Holiday Mondays. Other times by appointment" ? Does anyone know if it can be reached by bus please?
