About
Top of Coom, is Irelands Official Highest Pub is set 1045ft above sea level. The pub overlooks the Glanlee valley to the west and the Muscrai valley to the east. The pub is situated in an area of great natural beauty. Music sessions can often break out when least expected which is not surprising considering the pub is renowned throughout traditional music circles and its location near the Muscrai Gaeltacht means a visitor may often hear a word or two of Irish language spoken. Established in the middle of the 19thCentury, as the fifth generation of the Creedon family Tim, Eileen and their sons will offer a warm welcome to all who come through the door. Although its appearance has changed, as well as the drinks served, the one constant in the history of the Top of Coom pub is that its’ at the heart of the community and everyone who comes through the door leaves a friend.

This is such a beautiful spot. Beautiful views, friendly staff, family run and excellent bar menu. We had lunch here on a Sunday and it was very busy but nothing was too much trouble. We were able to sit out side and enjoy the views. We had soup and toasted sandwiches and pizza. Can't recommend highly enough.

I have had food in Top of Coom and have to say it’s fab and at such reasonable prices. All the staff and family that run it are also so friendly and would do anything for you, also the views up there are incredible.
Would definitely recommend calling, if only for a drink.

We visited today for lunch. The staff member that served us was incredibly attentive - customer service out of this world. The toasted sandwiches were also great. We’ll definitely be back.

We came across this pub just by chance as we seen the sign for it,and thought we would visit, although when I googled it for opening hours it said the pub was closed? but we still continued to go there and found out it was open, so maybe that needs to be edited? :) .
The outdoor area at the back is lovely and has great cover. We met Eileen who was so lovely and attentive. Thanks from the Powers in Galway :D

We just happen to see the sign for the pub and then followed up the windy road up to it. And great to see the surrounding area - the pub is not much to talk about. Apparently it had been rebuilt following a fire, so not much originality here, but a great chat at the bar with the owner who let us know about the area. It seems to be popular enough - on a cold February day there were a couple of small tour buses arriving while we were here. Unusual, but i would recommend it all the same.

My tour group stopped at The Top of Cooms at the recommendation of our fabulous guide, Bébhinn O’Malley, for a quick pint and some good craic. We enjoyed our Guinness as we watched a flock of sheep hurry by...perfect timing.

A pleasant experience as we were headed South in Ireland to find this hilltop pub. The owner in his wife were very gracious inside and outside of the pub. Excellent bathroom facilities exclamation boring

This was such a cool experience. The drive up to the pub was slow as we drop the back way through the mountains but along the way we got to see the sunset against the hills full of sheep. The pub is very cute and clean inside. One of the nicest bathrooms I’ve been in since arriving in Dublin. Enjoyed a pint of cider while here and the bar staff was lovely.
