About A Rural Experience
Our aim is to create tours that introduce guests to the culture & characteristics of Ireland. Enjoy sampling Ireland’s oldest whiskey at Bushmills, Co. Antrim, step back in time aboard The Dunbrody Famine Ship, Co. Wexford or enjoy the craic at a trad session with new friends in Connemara. We will organise your “Tour Experience” during which you can view our “40 Shades of Green” while visiting any part of our Beautiful Island. We can develop a tour to suit your needs from 1 day to 20 days. Our executive vehicles can cater for groups of 2 to 52 guests. ALL Tours are escorted by guides or drivers with vast experience and knowledge of all parts of Ireland. You will be treated with respect and Irish warmth while having a bit of craic (fun in Ireland).

We used A Rural Experience out of Kilkenny for our visit to Ireland. Rebecca arranged all our hotels and stops. She purchased advance tickets for some of the sites. Tom our driver was absolutely fantastic. He showed us so many wonderful sites. Extremely knowledgeable. Let them do the driving!! It was like being with a close member of your family.

Thanks to Rebecca and Eddie at A Rural Experience for putting together a truly lovely 10 day tour of Ireland. Our merry little band of 3 couples wanted to avoid a "corporate" style tour. Instead, we asked Rebecca to help us put together an itinerary of "must sees" along with some sites/destinations perhaps a bit off the beaten path. With that goal in mind, we went from Dublin (where we landed), to Galway, to Killarney, to Killkenny then back to Dublin for a couple of days. Cliffs, mountains, pubs, sheep dog trials, cathedrals, castles, distilleries, Waterford and so much more was included in this well paced and full vacation. And making our lives easy throughout the trip was our driver and tour guide, Eddie. Eddie kept us on schedule, safe, laughing and was thoroughly professional in all ways. If you're looking for an original Irish adventure, we heartily recommend the good folks at A Rural Experience. Thanks.

I am currently living in Dublin and happened to join my mother and her partner for their tour around Kerry. I work for a tour company myself and boy let me tell you, this company has got it right. Thank you for being a leading example of what the hospitality industry is all about. I hope to travel with Eddie again in the future. On behave of myself and my family, Thank you.

We did a four day driving trip around Ireland. If your goal is to really experience the country and it's wonderful people, then this is the company for you. Eddie is amazing and in his chest beats the heart and soul of Ireland. We covered a lot of ground and getting to know him was a great way to pass the drive time as he shared with us the joys and hardships of an Irish life, past and present. He knows the country intimately, as this is his home, whether sharing a natural wonder, an ancient ruin, or the best shepard's pie in the world. I can't recommend him enough.

We needed to get from Dublin to Macroom so Eddie picked us up at 9am and off we went. On our way to Macroom we stopped at the Rock of Cashel. Our driver told us to take as much time as we wanted which was great. He was not on a time schedule. After we got done there he suggested a place for lunch which was totally amazing. He was more than willing to make another stop for us. We really enjoyed our day with him and I know that anyone who is lucky enough to have Eddie as a driver will have a fantastic day.
