A beautiful Piece of History
Aug 2021 • Couples
The partly renovated abbey is a beautiful place. If you are interested in history or old buildings, this is definetely worth a visit.

The monastery is pretty much the only worthy sight in Padise
Aug 2018 • Solo
If Padise is a stop that your tour is stopping, then the monastery is a cool place to visit. Its Tower also provides a free-to-hike observation deck that allows some panoramic view of the countryside.

Good to see but not worth extra trip
Jul 2018 • Friends
The abbey is fun to explore and surprisingly well reserved. But I wouldn't specifically travel to see this sight. Still, a great half an hour going through layers of history.

nice and free ruins for a quick look around
Oct 2017 • Friends
Very nice and well kelp ruins. Good for a walk, not hard obstructions, so eazy to look around. Plenty of space and lots of corners to think about life and history.

Lot of history
Sep 2017 • Couples
It is a very nice place to visit. It is not by the main roads, but it is worth to choose these tracks and to feel the history!

Abbey/Monastery about 50km from Tallinn
Aug 2017 • Couples
On our way from Tallinn to Haapsalu, we decided to take scenic route, so that we could see Türisalu Pank(Cliff) and Keila-Joe Park with it's Waterfall and we ended up in Padise. Right next to this Abbey/Monastery that is in ruins is amazing Padise Manor, where we stayed the night. Construction of this Abbey started 1317 and unfortunately now it's in ruins. Still interesting place to visit and there still is some parts that are in decent shape.
So take a room/lunch/coffee in Padise Manor stone throw away and have a little walk here too.

An important monastery now in ruins
Jul 2017 • Couples
The Padise klooster, a Cisterian monastery, once controlled a vast spread of land and was an important place in the medieval Estonia. Sad to see it reduced to such state but glad to see the work which has been done to preserve it.

The place with interesting history is really worth to see
Sep 2016
It was a former Cistercian monastery and built from early 1300's to 1500's.
You can visit this place at any time, since it's open area. This could be changed though in 2018, after some works that are being planned there to make it more secure and informational. This means that beware if you'd like to take your youngsters with you - many places to fall or to get injured, so be aware.
There is also a Padise Manor house located just beside where you could get a decent meal and even great accommodation.
