I was delighted to be there for the 200 year anniversary of this iconic building. Weather was truly awful but great to be there for the occasion. Just as the lighthouse has withstood batterings from the wind and rain over the years, so did those who turned up to celebrate this notable anniversary. I have a considerable affiliation with this... Wonderful weekend spent in the lighthouse at fanad head. Spectacular location. High quality accommodation in the Tory apartment. Bonus of a great friendly pub 5 mins walk. Be sure and take the tour and climb to top of lighthouse for a view few have experienced so far.

Stayed in this building for New Years Eve. What a beautiful part of the country. Opened recently, so paying guests can stay for first time in over 200 years. No WiFi or TV. Just stunning views and comfortable surroundings. Great experience and really some thing very special. PS If you are afraid of heights. The spiral freestanding stairs would be... More

The most beautiful landscape and lighthouse what I ever seen. It stands at an amazing coast of the northern part of Ireland. You can feel yourself like a character of the Game of Thrones when you stands there. Unforgettable experience. If you are brave enough you can take very good photo from the opposing coast.

The drive to the lighthouse and the views of the coast are absolutely breathtaking. Very happy to have found this gem not too far from Portsalon.

We had a great time here. A beautiful setting right at the tip of Donegal, this lighthouse has quiet a history. Its not a big place and the tour only takes maybe 40mins in total but it was very interesting. I would highly recommend this place a stop off. Take the time to visit here.

A lovely place to visit - beautiful grounds and a great view. I especially enjoyed the tour and the guides' youthful exuberance & their eagerness to please. Ascending and descending the staircase was interesting as well. :)

At the northern tip of the Fanad peninsula in Co. Donegal is Fanad Head and Fanad Lighthouse. Well signposted and easy to find, it is well worth a visit. The guides are friendly and knowledgeable. For €8 or €5 if you are a pensioner, from the little shop you get access to the scenic site, a well informed tour of... More

We had travelled up from Cork, spent a few days touring the area around Letterkenny. A local man had told my partner about the Fanad Head lighthouse and said we should take a look before heading home. Because it was the last day of the year and because we had to drive 7 hours back down to Cork we were... More

Firstly, this place is so beautiful. Words cannot describe the views around the local area here. This lighthouse is well worth a stop on your Wild Atlantic Way trip. The lighthouse is in excellent condition and offers year round tours (they closed on Christmas Day) and welcomed over 17,000 visitors last year. It's clear to see why people flock here.... More
