What a fantastic place!
Apr 2021
Absolutely love this place! We'll often come here for an afternoon out, just to visit the ducks and animals and have a look at the fish. It's a lovely walk around the grounds and there's plenty of cute things to look at! The otter is adorable if you catch it out at play, and look out for the turtles too!

Have been twice recently, on both occasions there was an incredibly helpful young lady, Alice, in the aquatics centre. On our second visit she helped us select some fish for an indoor cold water tank.

Can't recommend Conwy Water Gardens enough!

It needs alot of TLC !!!
Aug 2020 • Couples
The place all in all, needs a bit of TLC. It was quite run down ,I know the lakes are meant to be green ,as they state , but it looks like it could do with a clean up .
What finished me off was the Dutch pancakes place in the site ,the sign made no sense . Not to stand on the the sloop due to covid ,so I walked up a little the guy stopped me . The sign should be more clearer, it wasn't helpful. He put us off .
Really needs alot of deweeded , where the otters where , some scaling back as it was so overgrown. How they found them to put in another place ,I have no idea ....all in all not great and small country lanes to get there . There's chickens running about that, bless them

Lovely nature trail and great pancakes!
Aug 2020 • Family
Free entry to the nature trail and grounds, with lots of ducks and really great otters. Our grandkids (4,6) loved it, and then lunch at the real Dutch pancake House, which was super.
Good value food with authentic Dutch pancakes, cost £70 for 6 of us including puds and drinks.
Staff friendly and helpful and even the shop had pocket money souvenirs.
Highly recommended for families.

Very disappointed
Jul 2020 • Family
This is more a user experience review than a review of their actual facilities - we weren't welcome enough to actually try them, apparently.

I called CWG this morning to enquire about taking our two wee ones fishing. The chap on the phone was at best unhelpful and at worst just plain rude. We were told rod hire was unavailable because of cleaning, which was understandable owing to Covid19. He added that no 'spectators' were allowed (spectators being my kids, aged 4 and 5). I explained I had a rod, reel, net etc., but might need some tackle/bait. The chap then told me I didn't have enough equipment to fish there. I asked how many rods I needed, adding that I hadn't told him how much equipment I had (and would've explained, not that he asked, that I was happy to purchase some).

He repeated that spectators weren't allowed. I asked him if he just didn't want us to fish there, to which he replied 'that's pretty much it'. Shock!

I really don't need to be writing this on my holiday, but feel I need to to let others know. I told him I was disappointed, he didn't seem to care much. I hope it wasn't an accent thing (I'm Scottish), but I can't help feel locals wouldn't receive the same response. If he was having an off-day, that's fine too - so long as he apologises. I will retract this review if it was a misunderstanding.

Brilliant dutch pancake house!
Mar 2020
This place was worth a visit just for the amazing dutch pancake house! They were delicious, really friendly service, quickly served and pancakes cooked fresh. Great value for money. However, the actual conwy water gardens were a little disappointing. We could only see the ducks and we did manage to see the otters. Everything was a little overgrown and not well kept - it was just a nice walk but couldn't really see much - we were expecting more picturesque sights. The aquarium was okay but again thought it would be bigger, there were no outdoor coldwater fish. It seemed a little run down. However, would definitely visit again for the delicious pancakes and milkshake!

Different than expected
Feb 2020 • Family
Following a recommendation, we chose to visit the water gardens whilst staying in Wales. The area could do with a little tlc as it looked tired, worn and in need of repair in places. We walked along the nature trail to see the ducks and otters: There are 2 otters housed in an enclosure at the bottom of the nature trail. It could do with an update and a lot more enrichment for the otters to encourage natural behaviour. I’m presuming that the recent weather may have made the area look more unkempt .
It is free entry with a donation box..

Excellent morning of pancakes & wildlife spotting!
Jan 2020
We took our daughter (9 months) and spent time in the Acquatic shop looking at the fish, then pancakes (v tasty indeed) and then spent about an hour walking around. It was a dry, clear winter's day and the views were excellent.

Family fun

Our family love coming here. The water gardens have such lovely wildlife, it's nice to just have a walk round and look at the animals. I would definitely recommend this place to families with children of all ages.

hidden gem
Sep 2019
we popped in here mainly for the pancakes, they didn't disappoint, expensive and decadent for a pancake but I thoroughly enjoyed the gluten free experience, hubbys was just as good and tasty. the gardens are free, a real gem for families , the fish keeping area was well stocked and staff helpful and friendly, we will be back especially for the pancakes :)
