What a stunningly beautiful part of Ireland. Joe was so down to earth and really just a happy guy. His dogs and pups were smart and adorable. If you like dogs then this is a must! I’d go back and do it all over again!

So nice meeting Joe, you can see his passion for his dogs in his training as well as his breeding. This was one of our most favorite memories on Ireland. I will come back to visit him every trip. I’m hoping we can purchase one of his dogs for Kaskela Farms, they are so smart and great at what they do.

It was fantastic; we drove along a scenic road, the point was in a beautiful place by the lake, surrounded by mountains. Joe, the owner, was a very friendly and great storyteller, he told us about dog training, sheep-keeping, sheep and dog market, the area, and answered all our questions. It was not like another attraction, we felt like visiting friends. In addition to the magnificent dog sheep show, there were puppies (our children were happy to pet them) and a goat with baby goats (we were all happy to pet them :)).

This was not our first dogsheep show, but clearly the best!

Beautiful location and a very interesting & tactile insight into sheep farming and training sheepdogs. The intelligence of the dogs and their hearing abilities are amazing. The host (Joe) is engaging. I think the memory of this visit will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Joe is a lovely man and is blessed with the gift of the gab. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and so are the dogs. Something that can be enjoyed by all age groups and definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

We went with our five and three year old and all of us absolutely loved the experience. Joe was so knowledgeable and personable. Whilst we learned all about a range of things from him, the children enjoyed cuddling and following the puppies around. The demonstration was great and the set up is perfect (it is so beautiful and there is an outside shelter you can go under if it’s raining).
We’d highly recommend the experience to anyone!

We had an excellent visit here! Joe is so knowledgeable and entertaining. His dogs are well-trained, and we learned a lot about the dogs and about raising sheep in Ireland. A definite highlight of our trip!

I had the pleasure of taking two American guests to this venue where we would join approximately 20 others for the sheep dog trials. We could hardly have chosen a better day since the sun was shining & we had clear blue skies & we were overlooking the beautiful Lough Nafooey. The setting is simply spectacular. Joe Joyce who carries out the trials is casual but professional & during his initial initial introduction covers a whole range of topics relating to sheep. He is a mine of information & he even covers the breeding of his collies who perform the trials. Joes location, his setup, his knowledge, his facilities & his delivery, makes for a fantastic experience in sheep dog trials. We all left very happy & I would recommend this to anybody.

Joe, the owner, is the perfect host. Obviously knowledgeable about local history and sheep farming, and a top expert in working sheepdogs, and more so a leading breeder and training of these dogs. Spot, his current top dog, did a marvelous demonstration, working the pack of sheep at Joe;s command. We had a chance to hold and pet the puppies, too. The location is outstanding, with gorgeous views. The drive here, on narrow roads in valleys among the hillsides, was fantastic.

Clearly these days, the way to survive here is to run an operation such as Joe's, as there is no money in owning sheep any more.
