Great experience in stunning setting. It was a totally relaxed environment and a joy to just be at the farm in that place with my daughter. She and I both loved it.

What a fun and interesting experience! We got an introductions to all the dogs, learned the different command whistles and got to see a demonstration of Spot herding the sheep. Afterwards we got to feed some sheep and goats. And all of this was in such beautiful scenery.

Thoroughly enjoyed the demonstration. This is not just an activity for tourists but of interest to all. Fascinating to see the skill of sheep dog Spot. Also lots of interesting info on commonage and mountain sheep farming etc . Definitely worth a visit.

Four of us visited this farm. The sheep farmer and dog trainer (sorry I missed his name) did an amazing job sharing his multigenerational story living on the mountain, being a sheep farmer and a sheep dog trainer. He shared elements of the business, working with other gamers in the region, and the annual cycles of managing sheep. He then had one of his dogs (border collies) demonstrate bringing sheep down the mountain. The dog was totally locked on to her handlers commands and did her job perfectly. It was amazing to see. We learned so much. The best part was meeting his two lovely daughters. The experience was completely enjoyable and suitable for both kids and adults. And the scenery - stunning location and well worth the drive.

Joe greeted our family warmly and proceeded to teach us all about his dogs and how they work with the sheep. We were able to have direct contact with both the dogs and sheep! It was an awesome experience and one we won't forget! I can't recommend this experience enough. It was amazing watching the dog in action and being able to pet the animals after the demonstration. It's both educational and fun. Joe is the best, and the setting is just gorgeous! Enjoy.

Enjoyed a fabulous two hours learning about sheep and sheep dogs from Joe Joyce in very rural Connemara. We met some of the dogs. After some background info, Joe asked "Spot" to go get the sheep. Spot took off up a very steep hill. We didn't see any sheep. But suddenly several emerged and started down the hill with Spot behind them. Fascinating to learn the voice sounds and whistles for commands. That's one very smart dog! Later we got to feed some baby lambs and goats. Weather was a bit nasty but it didn't dampen our fun. Highly recommend this place!!!

Our multi-generational family group (ages 11-83) loved our visit with Joe and his gorgeous and well-trained sheepdogs. It was fascinating to watch the dogs work, and we really enjoyed talking with Joe. Our kids were in heaven cuddling with the puppies and baby goats. And it would be hard to imagine a more beautiful setting. Highly recommend!

This is an amazing and off the beaten track experience. We were staying in Galway City with no car but took Burkes Bus to Headford and a taxi with a wonderful driver from Cong to Joe’s farm. It was an amazing performance in a stunning setting. We learned so much about the dogs and sheep in general. Joe was very friendly and knowledgeable and the dogs are so intelligent. We would highly recommend this one of a kind adventure. I wish I could have a dog like one of Joe’s, but I don’t have the work to keep one busy!
