Fabulous walk especially if you are interested in native plants. There are many good examples of native and endemic plants here. Also interesting if you like industrial archaeology. There are some interesting water galleries and their associated infrastructure.. Best to visit late morning/early afternoon because...More

Really enjoyed this walking route. Drove down the dirt road until we decided to rest the car tyres (small city car unlike the 4x4 everyone else has.) The route is extremely straightfoward to follow with small side routes that take you to mining cart tracks,...More

It is said that if you go into it, you could vanish and nobody will be able to find you any more. Yo fancy scary things? ...Go, then.

a little know barranco near Guimar. medium difficulty walking, stunning scenery and interesting folklore ("route of fear"). Keep going right to the very end past the old mine and through the brambles to reach the actual end.

You will need a car to get there as it is quite remote... but worth the effort. It is a blind valley that you can walk into. (take good walking shoes) There are the old mines that were dug out to look for water and...More
