Chiang Khan so beautiful
Nov 2020
Chiang Khan is a small town on the Mekong River at the end of the Thai border. It is a district in Loei province. that still maintains the culture, traditions, simple, self-sufficient, traditional way of life Which is hard to find these days, this quiet little town is in the spotlight. of many tourists The image of old houses lined up next to each other along the Mekong Road attracts many generations of tourists. Flowing travels here.

Great market, terrible food
Dec 2020 • Couples
Walking Street has a great selection of things to buy, I found genuine Dinky Toys, traditional Thai souvenirs and just about everything else in between. The market itself probably covers a km of pedestrianised road, a bit more when we were there as a travelling market bolted itself on the end. Checking temperatures for Covid was meticulous, every stall and shop we went into had hand gel and in the main people respected your space.

So why didn't it get 5 starts? This all boils down to the quality of the street food which in the main was pretty foul, we ate from several of the stalls and I wouldn't rate any of them above mediocre, the pad thai restaurant we went to (around soi 5 way) was a absolutely atrocious and this isn't just my opinion, there was 10 (mainly Thai) of us in our group and we all struggled to find something half decent.

The one exception was the Roti stall (around Soi 16 way) was very good.

No rip offs!
Nov 2020
A friendly walking street with no pressure to buy. There's a wide choice - especially of clothing and plenty of street food too. A couple of young musicians helped with the ambiance. Prices are fair even for the most expensive items such as the magnificent hand woven traditional dress wraps. And I bought the cheapest fridge magnet in my life - only 20 baht!

An Honest Thai Boatman for Riverside Boat Trip of Chiang Khan Walking Street
Nov 2019
I'm a white guy from the USA and I HATE being treated like I come from streets of gold. It's exhausting to either constantly bargain for a fair price or to be stonewalled with a double pricing scheme. I'm so grateful that I met Mr. Wat!! He loves the river and gave me a cheap price. He can't speak English, but his humble smile let's you know that you can trust him - and you can! I was so impressed by how long the trip was despite the low price that I'm volunteering to promote him online. Thailand needs more guys like Mr. Wat. PLEASE Support him. His boat is on the river across from Smile @ Chiang Khan restaurant.

Must Do
Dec 2019 • Family
If you're visiting Chiang Khan, make sure you go to Walking Street at night. What a wonderful experience
Many stalls to purchase souvenirs, buy food and enjoy the many buskers that are there.
One of the highlights of our trip to Chiang Khan.

Not many shops
Jun 2019
Chiang Khan walking street is not too long, about 1 kilometer. There are well known menu you can try i.e. grilled shrimp, sticky rice cover with egg (grilled). I tried a local palm fruit called “Lok Chok” in syrup. It is rare item because it takes around 35 year for produce, told by seller.
Many shops sell souvenirs especially tee-shirt.
