Narrabeen lakes is a great spot as it is protected from the sea though not far away and has best of surf beach access and close by protected beach spots around the lake and excellent shallow spots to keep the kids safe. Calm waters and ideal for taking a kayak or paddle board. Inflatable li-low or tubes for the kids... More

There is now a well signposted 8km walk around the lake which we did last Sunday. A very pleasant walk which can easily be completed within two hours. Being a circular walk You can start from any point - there are parking spots at various points (see photo). Plenty of shade on a sunny day and also water fountains at... More

Live in the area and have been there on many occasions. Great for picnics or just sitting and enjoying the views. Plenty of space for kids. Kid friendly and safe.

This is a lovely, easy 8 km walk around the lake. It is mostly flat & is shared with cyclists who were friendly & notified you when they approached. There are lots of lovely picnic spots & great cafes as you walk & the outlook is just beautiful.

Really nice walk around the lake. The walk is well sign-posted with stops for water. Can walk the dog on a lead. We will do it again and take some food as there are picnic / BBQ places as well

Lovely area. The opportunities for cycling, canoeing or walking are wonderful. So glad the bike path goes all the way around the south lake now.

I stayed in Narrabeen for a week and frequented the lake for swimming and fishing. Very popular spot on weekends, so get in early if you want as spot in the shade.

Narrabeen lakes offers an enjoyable venue for picnics, water activities, biking and walking. There are a couple of cafes and a canoe rental shop. It is close to the Narrabeen stores and public transport. The only issue is that a lot of cyclists think that they own the walkways and walkers need to watch out for them.
