This museum is worth a visit for several hours. Suitable for both adults and children who will travel far back in time to another epoch. Amazing treasures and very interesting stories, easy to read or listen to. Also a great playroom for children.

If you are in Gotland, you MUST visit this museum in Visby. We were so fortunate to have a wonderful guide .. What we thought we knew about Vikings was replaced with a truthful account.

No trip to Gotland would be complete without visiting Gotland's Museum in Visby. Take the tour and hope that your guide is Jeremy. He makes the story of Gotland come alive. The exhibits are very well presented.

I took a bus from Stockholm to Nynäshamn and took a ferry to Visby. I know there are some flights that go to the island but it is cheaper to go by bus and ferry, though it does take longer.
