Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent a wonderful day touring the well known and harder to find spots from d-day. Malcolm is kind and full of knowledge and fascinating history. Car is very comfortable and picnic was great too. Highly recommend!

We just completed a two day private D-Day tour with Malcolm Clough. It was an amazing experience! He tailored the tour to our interests. He is so knowledgeable and made each beach and site memorable with his stories of individual soldier's heroism and ingenuity. He provided us with the " big picture" and then personalized it.
We loved the picnic lunches provided by his wife- delicious!
Very highly recommend Malcolm. He is truly a treasure!!

The 3-day US specific tour with Malcolm was everything and more. His ability to tell specific stories about all of the places you visit really enhances the experience. The transportation service he provides is very convenient and really helps one see everything each day in a timely manner. I’d highly recommend purchasing the homemade lunches made by Malcolm’s wife, Allison, because this allows you to stop anywhere on the tour to grab a bite to eat, drink and relax before the next stop. And Allison also makes very delicious lunches, which I enjoyed each day, especially her desserts. I had the absolute best time with Malcolm and would highly recommend him to anyone. I can’t thank Malcolm and Allison enough for making my trip to Normandy a resounding success. 5-star rating without a doubt.

Run, don't walk, to your laptop and schedule a D-Day tour with the marvelous Malcolm Clough! My husband and I took his two day tour this week and can't say enough WONDERFUL things about our experience. You will not find another tour guide more knowledgeable than Malcolm on the history of D-Day specifically and WWII in general. His enthusiasm is infectious and his ability to make the events of D-Day come to life through stories of a myriad of soldiers (by name!) at a variety of locations makes the events come to life. AND he's the nicest guy you will ever meet. He drives an impeccably clean Mercedes SUV so the ride is super comfortable and Malcom is an excellent driver. Malcolm is British so no worries for any English speaker taking the tour. We would rate Malcom a 15 out of 10; he insured that we learned as much as possible and saw as many key sights as possible during our two days in Bayeux. Many many thanks, Malcolm. You are a treasure!

My husband and I were in Normandy for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. We booked a private tour guide but, because of numerous closed roads, we were unable to visit many of the D-Day sites of historical significance. We decided to return in September of 2022 and, after intensive research, booked Malcolm for a private two day tour. There literally are no words to describe the professional expertise with which Malcolm guides his personalized tours. My husband and I both felt as if we were in a BBC Production. Malcolm's extensive knowledge of the historical background of D-Day as well as his ability to make us feel as if we were reliving history, as we heard the names of specific soldiers and their stories, were exceptional. We listened and learned. We cried and we laughed. My husband and I have had many, many private tour guides throughout Europe, New Zealand and Australia during the past thirty years. Malcolm Clough represents the Best of the Best. Do not look any further for a Tour Guide. We both want to return to Normandy just to spend more time with Malcolm! Last but not least, his lovely wife Alison handles all communication and is excellent with details and specifics.
If I could leave a ten star rating I would.

Malcolm is engaging and interesting. we see the battlefields through the eyes of the GIs personal accounts which makes it vibrant and real. this was not a lesson but rather an experience. Malcolm is well read, passionate about the subjects he covers and a wonderful story teller. we were able to see, experience and absorb so much of the Normandy landing history we could not possibly have don on our own or in a large or even a small group. We had a private tour with just my husband and myself and I could not have asked for more. Malcolm included maps and a bound guide he put together himself of our day tour which included the Omaha and Utah Beach landing sites, the German bunkers, the paratrooper landing sites and the American cemetery. The entire experience was awesome, we could not have asked for a better day. Booking was straight forward and the value for this tour was above and beyond.

Absolutely first class tour by Malcolm. Knowledgeable, respectful and always looking to provide context to the tour and explain the bigger picture. We did the two day tour and this provided just enough time for all the beaches plus Pegusus bridge, the battery at Longues sur mer, St Mere Eglise, US cemetery at Omaha, Arromanche and the mulberry harbour and Brecourt manor. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough.

What an amazing tour guide! Malcolm brought the events of D Day to life through his incredible and passionate story telling. He knows his subject and clearly loves what he does - this is infectious and we spent our two days with Malcolm asking questions and sharing views. We also enjoyed Alison's superb picnics on both days - we only ordered for one day but it was so good we changed plans and ordered a second at short notice - which was not a problem. We will be back soon and wouldn't dream of touring the d day beaches with anyone else - we'll be telling our friends and families that Malcolm is the man to go to for a tour!
My husbands passion for the Longest Day movie has been re-ignited - I can expect a screening when we get home!

I cannot recommend a Normandy tour with Maclolm more highly! He is insightful, respectful, unbelievably knowledgeable, and a fantastic storyteller. You will come away from this with a very memorable experience, I have no doubt. During our one-day tour, Malcolm brought the history of the D-Day invasion to life through his detailed maps and examples, along with some amazing stories at each spot. His guiding ability is the best I’ve ever experienced - so much so that I’d love to do a longer tour again in the future!

I am interested in visiting Normandy on May 30th and would love to tour with Malcolm. How do I arrange the tour? 4 of us visiting for my husband's 70 th birthday!

The email link on the website is how I contacted him. His wife will respond with additional info. Give them a couple of days, as Malcolm often spends all day giving tours. My guess is that May 30 is a busy time being so close to June 6th, so I would contact him soon. He offers a number of different itineraries, depending on the level of detail you want. If your husband is a history buff, I suggest a two-day tour if you can fit it in. There’s so much to see between the American sectors and the British sectors. We filled two days with the American sectors alone. Enjoy!
