No access

Can’t get to the lighthouse unless you have a boat over to the island. There is coast guard stuff around the light so access is restricted. It’s only able to be viewed from the inlet and the beach.

Skinny Lighthouse
Mar 2021
If you are a connoisseur of light houses, the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse is one to see. I found it different from the standard lighthouses you typically see in the northwest. The structure is built on a skinny foundation. Direct access is a little more limited as there are many private areas around the structure. There is a park across the inlet that provides for decent viewing.

A iconic place with a great view and weather and location near the beach and some stores to pass the weekend in family.

Artists and relaxers find this nice.

A lovely place!
The park with lighthouse view are delightful. The artists find the lighthouse very drawable. Many others were just enjoying the view and relaxing. I’m glad I stopped here

A most pleasant way to step back in time

We visited this old lighthouse via a wonderful small. Ruise boat down the Intracoastal Waterway. Once we arrived , adjacent to the beach, my wife and I both climbed the
10 story lighthouse to,the top and beheld a magnificent view. The Coast Guard officers who managed thebhixtorical site are as nice and informative as an be.

Is it Close?

We attempted several times to visit the lighthouse but it wasn't opened. It appeared that there was a considerable amount of construction going on at the area. Also, our resort told us that we could swim across the inlet at low tide in order to access it. We later found out that it was a paid tourist attraction that had access from the road, required parking and everything. The business associated was never opened on the various days we drove by. I really wanted to visit this but I took photos of it from the beach about a mile down where we were staying.

Travelled quite a while to get here and was disappointed not to be able to get up close. Did find a spot to take some photos.

Wow it’s a historical lighthouse. Look up when they have tours. Wear sneakers cause you walk up the spiral steps. It’s awesome to look out to the Atlantic Ocean .

A short break to admire the view
Feb 2019 • Couples
We stopped here after driving up the A1A from Fort Lauderdale. The road over the bridge was closed to traffic so we decided to turn round here. We parked in the car park and paid < $1 to park for about 40 mins and visit the small park area which was neat and tidy and popular with people fishing. We walked up and down the wharf spotting the pelicans. Someone told us there had been a manatee in the water earlier as well as a ray, but we didn't see either. It was a shame we couldn't get across to the lighthouse; we'll have to research the opening days for the next time.

In darkest night, all shall see its light

I return as often as I can. There is a lot of history with this lighthouse, and I highly recommend reading up on it at the wikipedia site. Watching the boats pass by while the light spins is a great time.
