Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a wonderful visit to Kilgar Gardens. We arrived early to have time to enjoy walking around this beautifully laid out and designed Garden. The Serenity Garden was a treat with winding paths and so many song birds amongst the bountiful colour and variety of flowers/shrubs/hedges so well cared for. The flowers compliment eachother in placement and height-nothing is lost to view. We had an enjoyable chat with owner and learned the name of one particular flower which was appreciated. Kilgar Gardens offers a delicious selection of Teas/Coffees and homemade cakes/scones - we partook of these after the walk. Great that they offer a selection of flowers to purchase. We will be back.

I had the great luck to visit this exquisite garden while on a tour in Ireland. Kilgar Gardens are a labour of love as can be seen from the beautiful planting that has been done by Paula Byrne. Her imaginative design will work through all seasons, giving each flower bed and 'room' something of interest to please everyone. Though set out on formal lines in some parts, others are arranged in 'rooms' and intimate arbours. There is also a long stretch of a more informal nature which is enchanting, with garden sheds interspersed in a delightful fashion. All this plus an inviting seating area, with excellent coffee/tea and cakes and scones makes for a perfect outing

The three acres of garden at Kilgar, surprise and delight with their sheer perfection. Paula excels in the colour harmony of her planting, pale yellow roses and blue agapanthus together, or a hot chocolate rose with oat grass combination, combined with buxus beds and mop head standard trees. Even the apple trees have the red rosiest apples to be seen. There’s plenty of private seating areas throughout the garden to relax and have a tête-à-tête. A really fabulous lemon cake and big pot of coffee in the tea room complete the perfect garden visit

i have visited Kilgar gardens on several occasions and it is magical! pictures dont do it justice as they cant capture the tranquil & nostalgic atmosphere!! Paula is a very generous host but too modest for her own good. the tea room has georgous treats and i am looking forward to seeing her new ventures this year🌹🏵🌸🌻🌼🌺

This is a beautiful garden. Lots of interesting planting and small gardens leading you around the area. Very warm welcome by the owners and we thoroughly enjoyed the homemade cakes/scones and coffee. Would highly recommend it. Loved it.

The whole package, each part complements the others, giving a greater garden than the sum of its parts, add to this the delightful host Paula and you have a magical place to visit.
It is worth looking at the water colours Paula paints, we brought 2 that take pride of place in our house.
