At eight euros, this is a value for money place to visit and for an extra three you can visit the cloister at Cadouin. Stunning views, the chateau is really interesting and presents some great photo opps. Definitely a good one to visit. There is...More

I was lucky enough to be staying at a location, where almost every day I got a view of Chateau de Biron as it stands proud out across the landscape. What an amazing site. The little town and the chateau are immaculately maintained. Although most...More

Thank you for your review. Bernard Pallissy probably lived in this village but we're not sure about that.

There are so many castles one can visit it is easy to be rather blasé about them. On our fourth day in Dordogne we decided to give this one a go. Well what a good decision that was. We arrived rather late and was pleased...More

Perched high above the countryside of the Perigord Noir, this impressive chateau is worth a visit if only to see the fabulous views for miles in every direction afforded by climbing to the top. To use the audio tours in English, ID and an extra...More

I've been coming to this castle for the past 30 years and have admired the excellent restoration work that has been done. My favourite is the great hall with the wooden vaulted ceiling. There are different eras throughout out the construction of the castle. beautiful...More

We have visited this attraction many times over the ten years that we have lived here, with family and friends. Over that period, it has been possible to see renovations that have taken place. The views from the parapets and terraces are stunning. The interior...More

You have to be prepared for a lot of stairs and uneven cobbles when visiting this place so it wouldn't be suitable for wheelchairs or push chairs. I visited with my mother who did find it a bit of a struggle but she and I...More

This chateau is a spectacular looking place from the outside. Inside it is still impressive but the audio guide and signage about where to move to next within the chateau need some help. In my opinion the audio guide is too long on facts and...More

We spent two hours here, fascinated by the building, the rooms and the history. We bought a combined pass for Biron and the Abbey of Cadouin which was good value at 11.60 euro. The English paper explanations are given out sparingly and we were only...More

Standing up on a hill, the chateau can be seen from miles away on a clear day. The self-guided tour started at the chapel and went on to the different towers, rooms and courtyard. Because it was built and add-on between 12th and 18th century,...More

I went there a few years ago and found an extra ordinary torture chamber in a dungeon, why isn't it still on the tour?

I was disappointed too. I didn't ask anyone but perhaps it was unsafe for some reason. Sorry have no further info for you but to me it was sadly missing from our visit.
