Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband's mother, who was born in southwest Virginia, was a Nolen. His cousin had done extensive genealogical research and determined that the Nolen family lived in the Barony of Forth in County Carlow before leaving for Virginia in the 1600s. We forwarded this information to Bianka who crafted a perfect day tour for us. She picked us up in Dublin and drove us to Carlow about 90 minutes outside of Dublin. A guide, descended from the Nolans, met us at the first cemetery we visited to tell us of the Nolans buried there. We visited a second cemetery in the area, lunched at a delightful local cafe - where we encountered some "distant" Irish Nolan relatives - and toured Huntington Castle before returning to Dublin. Our tour was expertly planned and flawlessly executed. Truly Bianka's research and attention to detail made this day the highlight of our Irish adventure, and we spent many fine days in this beautiful country. We highly recommend Carlow Tours without reservation!

Bianca performed something less than a miracle. I sent her an email, just hoping to visit the area where my great-grandfather was from, but her connection resulted in actually meeting relatives, visiting a gravesite and being in the home where my great-grandfather was raised. In one day, so much was accomplished.

We are so glad we found Carlow Tours and Bianka McDonagh. There were specific areas of Kilkenny we wanted to see and we needed someone who could take us to these places. Bianka met us at the Dublin Airport and took us directly to our hotel in Kilkenny for 3 days. For two days we had Bianka all to ourselves and she took us to the places we wanted to see as well as others we would not have thought of at all. After we had explored and had a great time she drove us to our hotel in Dublin.
I cannot say enough positive things about Carlow Tours. Bianka did advance work on several locations and there wasn't any place we visited where she had not prepared. She researches her destinations and takes particular interest in the comfort of her guests. We could not have achieved all we do without her help.
I do not hesitate to recommend this company for any trip in Southeast Ireland.
Thank you Bianka

Brendon from Carlow Tours was the best and most courteous driver I have had. He met me at the airport, guided me to his vehicle and stopped enroute for us to have refreshments. All of us in the van enjoyed his local history comments but especially appreciated his willingness to accommodate our needs re. drop offs, shopping, and extra help with luggage. I would thoroughly recommend using Carlow Tours for any trip in Ireland.

The day began with a big smile and really comfortable transport to our first stop in Kilkenny Castle where we enjoyed a guided tour with a veritable polymath! By the time it was over we really felt that we could indeed be possibly related to the previous occupants! Then we were in for a real treat at High Bank Orchards. We had tastings of some wonderful organic ciders followed by Apple calvados, Apple schnapps and Apple liquor; only to warm us on this bright crisp day of course! Off to Leighlinbridge then to hear and see all this historical village has to offer. All of the above was interspersed with meal/ refreshment breaks at our leisure. A lovely relaxed day that felt like time with friends. Thanks Bianka for a terrific tour.
