Thought I had rated this. But delighted to sing its praises again. Happened on it quite by accident googling Delta variant.... what a tonic of a garden... full of the healing powers of colour, scent, texture, sound. 15 individual and differently themed gardens. Very easy access (and having spent some time in a wheelchair and years with mobility issues) I can certainly appreciate wide level paths and lots of seating. Also suits parents with buggies and little ones. Tranquility with a capital T. The friendliness at reception and in coffee shop excellent. Must visit

Unexpected gem. We had a few hours to spare and spotted the sign post for Delta Sensory Gardens and we are so glad that we did, it was lovely. My 2 small children loved the freedom to run around and discover what was around each corner. It was so peaceful and well thought out. It truly gave me the meaning of a sensory garden between the sounds, sights, smells etc. Children were free and adults were only €6 each so well worth a visit and I would recommend people to look at the annual memberships available if they are anywhere close to Carlow. We didn’t eat in the cafe but the outdoor seating looked so inviting. We had a shower of rain while we were there but there were plenty places to seek shelter so weather shouldn’t be a factor for people to visit. It really is a lovely spot and well worth a visit for all ages.

I was planning a visit to Carlow. I googled ‘things to see in Carlow’ and the delta sensory gardens cropped up. What a gem! I was blown away how wonderful this place was. €6 in is definitely worth it. Whoever designed this place is a genius. Its very tranquil and peaceful. Its self-guided using the map provided in the brochure. Every place on the map is unique, and has a different sense of beauty and peace. I would highly recommend it for a peaceful day out. It’s a great place to bring children with autism. The coffee shop sell lovely homemade cakes and it’s a nice way to finish off the day. I will definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

Very pretty garden. A lot of work and care gone into it. Different areas were nice. It was a beautiful sunny day and there were lots of picnic areas.

On the negative side it is very hard to find. It is right at the back of an industrial estate the turn off for which is immediately before a roundabout. There was a sign but it was very hard to see.
Entrance fee of 6 euro per person was far too much and I expected it to be bigger

The gardens were not on my sat nav, so I set the destination for Strawhall Estate, the industrial estate, and followed the plentiful signage through the estate to the car park for the gardens.
The overall area is not huge - no long distances to walk - but a lot is packed in. There are over a dozen little gardens, each with a theme and lots of water features. It would have been a perfect place to sit on one of the many seats and read for a while, but many of the visitors were families with energetic and noisy children.
There is a cafe and toilets at the start/end of your stroll through the gardens.

Had a really lovely time today in Delta Sensory Garden. It is a gem of an attraction hidden away in an industrial part of Carlow. The staff on arrival were very pleasant. We spent an hour wandering around the 16 or so different themed gardens. Beautiful fountains, sculptures, water features and plant life are a key feature and there is so much to catch your eye. The venue is very accessible and suitable for all ages. We brought our own picnic and availed of the on site picnic tables. There is a lovely cafe for take-away items. It only cost €12 for our family of 5. It is not a huge area to cover but some much is packed into a small area. We spent a very pleasant hour and a half there but you could stay there for much longer if you liked. Next time I will bring a book and stay a while longer. Would highly recommend.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know how much you enjoyed your visit to the gardens. The cafe has been exceptionally busy since it reopened with lots of our visitors enjoying the alfresco dining.
