Worth a look if you're in the area. There's a few other sights of interest locally. Including another dolmen and a stone circle. We took in a few of them one after the other. There's parking at this one which is handy.

Impressively sized Capstone but not as impressive as the Poulnabrone Dolmen in County Clare if only because the surroundings it finds itself in are not as picturesque and remote

The dolmen is over 5000 years old & has the largest capstone in Europe. It is close to Carlow town, has a small off-road carpark & small, simple information boards.

Brought our two grandsons here on a day out. It's very impressive to look at the boys were having great discussions about how they built it without modern tools. Well worth a look.
