Poor quality campsite
Aug 2020 • Family
Just back from 3 nights in Rancho Reillys and have to say wont be back. I knew it was gonna be rustic and basic dont get me wrong but its not for us. Our issue was the toilets and showers. Filthy and no hot water. Reported and was told it was because the taps are left on by kids. Only my opinion but wouldn't be for me.

On a positive note we still had the craic and made the best of the days away with great friends but when you go to local pool for a swim to have a wash there is something wrong 😫😫

Only OK
Aug 2020 • Family
First the positives :
Very friendly and helpful staff. Midnight curfew and security are constantly around keeping an eye. Fire pits are a lovely touch and u can buy a bag of logs for 5 euro. On site cafe also. Playground OK but I think its for small kiddies.
The negatives :
Toilet and shower facilities horrendous. Very poor hand washing facilities as half the sinks had poor water flow. I felt uncomfortable with this especially in the current climate although there are hand sanitizers around the site. Could be a great site but unless toilet and showers are improved I wouldn't go back.

Avoid at all costs

🤢🤢🤢🤢 how this campsite is allowed to remain open is beyond me. Filthy is an understatement. My skin is still crawling after leaving. Stayed for 2 nights, family of 4. No effort put into any aspect of the campsite. How health inspectors have not shut this place down is shocking. Stay clear!!!!🤮🤮🤮🤮

After reading some harsh reviews on here I felt I should share my experience.

****RANCHO REILLY'S****

Have seen some people asking views on Rancho Reilly's. We're just back from our first trip there and safe to say it won't be our last!!! We even stayed longer than planned!

Rancho relaxo is a little haven.
A place where kids can be kids and adults can be adults!
Very family orientated.
The kids had an absolute ball. The place is safe and contained and they just run wild! Like kids should. The petting zoo, indoor arcade/cafe, playground, football field, barrel train and frog hunts are some of the things that keep them amused throughout the day.
Come evening, the camp fires were lit, out glow sticks broken out and the air was filled with chat and laughter, children and adults alike.
Playground closes by 10pm but that didn't stop ours playing around the tent.

It's generally fires out by midnight. Much better than blanket curfews on other sites!! Once you keep it down you can continue to have a chat.
Loud groups will not be tolerated.
Security patrol at night which gives a real sense of security. Jamie in particular is a lovely fella!!

There is a real community feel around the place.
We met some lovely people here and have made a couple of life long friends! It's been reported as one of the best holidays ever!

Eoin the owner does be around for anyone who may need anything. Cillian does be around too in the van, such a lovely fella!!! Goes around in the mornings to collect rubbish from your pitch and back around again in the evenings selling firewood. In-between driving the barrell train. Ranchos is filled with hard-working, friendly, lovely people.

The rustic bathrooms and showers (free) could do with a bit of an upgrade but are all cleaned regularly and work perfectly! That would be my only qualm.

Some notes for staying here;
Have cash! No card facilities on site.
Campers kitchen has toaster, microwaves, kettles, fridge and freezer.
Sinks available for wash-up.
Hand sanitizer dotted around all public areas.
All outdoor taps you will find around the site are drinking water.
Cafe/archade open 11.30-16.30.
Bags of firewood are only 5e.
Bring togs, swimming pool only 2 minute drive down the road. Really cheap too!
Bring nets or little containers for the frog hunts.
Carlow town has everything so don't worry about forgetting anything.
Take aways deliver to the site.
Hard ground pegs an advantage!

We can't wait to get the chance to go back!
Thank you Rancho Reilly's for the great memories, we will be back!

Just spent two nights in Ranchos with my partner and two kids (Age 5&3). It was our first camping experience and can’t recommend the place enough! From the helpful staff who are always a shout away to the facilities it was brilliant! Big thank you to Cillian for goin above and beyond checking in throughout the day to ensure we needed for nothing. Will definitely be back soon!

Rancho Reilly - Awful place
Aug 2019 • Family
I have never written a review but I think it only fair to warn others. We travelled for 30 mins with 4 young kids. We lasted 18 minutes. This place is very small, dirty and on the 24th August 2019 at 1 O’Clock had no karts or trikes working as all had broken wheels or had apparently disappeared into the adjacent campsite. The petting corner is filthy they have super friendly pets & the girl in there was trying her best to share animals around but piss and rabbit poo all over the place & on table & chairs the kids sit on. Kids from campsite was like off with pets it organized chaos No donkey or pony rides. We removed our children after they were playing with old tubs of Pringle’s and cans in sandpit. There was a wine glasses on the ground just by the donkey/pony area and rubbish everywhere. So disappointing your pay 7.50 euros to effectively handle a rabbit or a snake. The smell of poo & urine is horrendous. It’s dirty, old and playground is broken in parts on about half an acre. We headed to the the Dome in Carlow which cost the same to make it up to the kids who were so disappointed. Ages ranged 1-11 years.

We went to Rancho Reilly's myself my hubby my two girls aged 7+9 and my sister and her two girls 10+2 it's my third visit and it's still as charming as ever we had a ball kids played all day got filthy dirty just like we did as kids ..from the minute we arrived kids are playing on swings, scooters, digging in sand, climbing on tyres, finding bigger puddle's than the child before them heading on frog hunts and going on free tractor train rides..and also feeding animals, nearly forgot to mention holding lizards snakes rabbits and guinea pigs it is the most wonderful place I've been to and I hate hearing people giving it a bad review. All staff on site are amazing and deserve a medal for all their hard work . We had Jamie looking after us he's a gent ,never met anyone with such a great work ethic and who was so good at his job🤩 people need to relax more and enjoy it look beyond a little bit of dirt and dust 😉 can't wait to get bk to rancho's .

Couldn't wait to leave
Aug 2019 • Family
This place is filthy, dirty, smelly and that's just the start of it. The animals shouldn't be kept in these conditions... Its scandalous! From what I seen here you'd have to wonder how people can actually give this place a good rating... Broken run down play areas, the tractor ride with the barrels was the biggest joke of all...DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY STAY AWAY!!

Fun, family friendly, make lots of friends summer memories to last a lifetime

Your children will LOVE it!! And isn’t it all that matters. The freedom, the wide open space, the large play area, the animals, the closeness of Carlow town and all it has to offer, the safety of the area, the unbelievable friendliness of the owners and the staff is what stands out the most. Met a lovely girl called Jade who was so fantastic with our two year old in the animal area, a real gem, as were all the staff. We stayed the bank holiday and it was busy but so we’ll organized. I expected tents to be on top of one another but we had lots of space and lovely neighbors. Toilets and showers were unisex, they were clean and had a suitable campers kitchen also. They provided individual camp fires and they drove around with firewood to keep it going AND the came around with a trailer to pick up any of your rubbish to make everything easy for you. Curfews weren’t strict but were encouraged and they also had frog hunts for kids in the evening and was a joy to watch all the kids excitedly skipping off. Again I repeat your kids will LOVE it here. Not one child had an electronic device. They were happy to just play. As one camping neighbor said “ I spend €2000 on a family holiday abroad and half way through the kids asked could we please go to Ranchos instead next year” doesn’t that just say it all.
