Too expensive now and less offer than before
Mar 2021 • Family
Same ticket price as before but no show, no more sealions, smaller playground, double price “reiten”...gerard sleeping all the time...the new construction is only for private events...we go no more. Sorry.

Fun for kids
Sep 2019
I am not particularly a fan of zoos having seen almost all the animals in the Kinderzoo n the wild. however, it is well done; the animals do have sufficient space to move and be themselves. Many animals, like their cheetahs, cannot be re-introduced into nature since they have become too accustomed to people. Hence, it is good for children and adults to see them and hopefully will lead people to protect them from poachers etc. in the wild.

A bit small
Jul 2019 • Family
Well organised with food to feed the small goats and pigs and a great sea lion show. But really is quite a small space and you do find yourself questioning about why the animals are in such cramped conditions. A recent addition of a cheat in a small enclosure did feel wrong.

We attended the conference and were taken to this zoo in Rapperswil. These beautiful giants should be living out in their own habitats. They are so loved and well looked after though but still I was sad for them.

A very good mini zoo
May 2018 • Family
A tiny zoo by the lake in Rapperswil. You can cover the zoo in less than an hour. The attraction are the giraffes, elephants, camels, cheetah and a seal. You can ride the camels and donkeys. It's quite small but a lovely place to spend a few hours with the kids. Its great for toddlers because of its size and they can get close to the animals. Inside the zoo, there is an asian restaurant and 2 cafeteria.
If you're in the area it's worth a visit.

Sunday trip to Jona
Sep 2017 • Couples
It's been a wonderful day and therefore we drove to the lake of Zurich to Rapperswil/Jona to pay a visit to Knie's Kinderzoo. This is the place where the animals from the Swiss National Circus are spending the winter months while the Circus has its tour break ... the last time I went there was when my boy was about 10 years young and he's turned 23 yesterday the 23rd September. I highly recommend a visit to Knie's Kinderzoo it's a wonderful place. Pls see the following pictures ...

Very good for Children
Sep 2017 • Family
We arrived there very late (16:15), because the weather was bad before that. Arriving late, we lost most of the activity, which happen in the morning. The Kinderzoo is very good for giving children the chance to see animals from close distance, and to feed and ride some of them. As expected there is age limitation for rides (e.g. minimum 6 years old for riding Camels, not sure for elephants/horses).
There is also a Seal show, which was very appreciated by children.
Again, this is a small Zoo mainly for children. I've enjoyed it as well, but there is no comparison with Zurich Zoo.

The Knies Kinderzoo...a wonderful place to relax and enjoy with family and friends!
Jun 2016
The Kinderzoo is just down the road from where I live. I have been there many times with children that I look after. I also had one of my first dates with my present partner there! I can recommend it to young and old!
