Very quiet and peaceful location, great place to go for a nice walking or hiking tour. Alternatively they offer horse carriage service which is also a god option. Unfortunately the restaurants were closed due to COVID.
Must see when in the region!

Serene hiking

We took the public horse drawn carriage up to Cresta, and then hike up to the Hotel Fed. Just beautiful and virtually no people.

Scenic but hazardous
Sep 2019
The Fex Valley is very scenic but it has become a hazardous place for walker/hikers. We first explored this valley in 1972 and loved it so last week we walked it again but now it is overun with speeding bikers and is now a hazardous place to walk. Add to the bikers several speeding motorbikes and three wheelers and we were not happy with the experience this time. There is even bikes on trail sections that clearly they dont belong on but no signs to keep them off. So if you visit, be careful or you could get run down.

Good experience in horse riding. The view is stunning.120 franc for 1 hour return journey and the horse waiting for you for 1.5 hours

風景非常優美, 120 瑞士法郎大約來回共1小時馬車之旅,馬車會等你1.5 小時,很好的體驗,山谷中有一家餐廳,每個人消費約25 法郎,挺好吃,以瑞士的物價也不算貴了

Charming and beautiful valley
Sep 2018 • Couples
We first discovered this valley on a hike from Muottas Muragl on the “gastronomic trail” and fell in love with this picturesque valley with views of glacier covered peaks, cattle, llamas, goats and sheep and the sounds of cowbells and mountain streams. The first time we walked on the marked Trails on either side of the valley. The second time we decided just to walk along the road to be in the floor of the valley which by the way is quite a bit shorter than the trails up on the side of the mountains.
The trail to the Val Fex runs right by our hotel in the entire trail was absolutely beautiful.

Stortung drom the Schweizerhof hoetel it is a steep way up at first for me as a very old man, but I still manage tot dos so. And do not forget to enter the 15th century chapel at Crasta with its remarkable frescos and the tapestry just left from the entrance. And observe the spot where the ashes of Claudio Abado, the famous music director and of the well known psychiatrist Heinz Hartmann. are preserved in a wall at the grave yard of the chapel.

Picture postcard perfect scenery
Jul 2018 • Solo
In the summer, the locals' only road winds up the valley, with snow-capped mountains and fields of alpine flowers and cows with bells and restaurants along the way.
This year, on my way up I chose the path through the woods, on the right side above the valley, rather than following the road. On a sunny day it provides welcome shade and different flowers and shrubs, as well as the occasional cow!
And if you don't want to walk, you can always choose to ride in a horse-drawn carriage - up, down, or both ways.

Short walk before dinner

Easy to get to from Sils. We walked up besides the river. On our return follow the mountain bike trail to the right and then a steep trail back into the village. Many easy to hard loops available.

One of the loveliest of Valleys
Sep 2017 • Friends
This really is a beautiful place. It is a short pull through the gorge before the valley opens out into a long, flat valley with paths higher or lower as you fancy. The only traffic on the roads is either local or horse drawn. A special place.
