Were told about this valley by another couple staying at the hotel Albris. We had been alpine skiing for 4 days and were looking for something different. We walked down towards the Pontresina train station where there is a x/c ski center complete with rentals. We rented skis and we were off. It is 7km each way on a there... More

The Roseg valley is beautiful and an easy (but long) hike of 14k kms return with only 200 m of change in altitude. It can be very busy during sunny weekends. I find it most beautiful in autumn and in winter.

You can take a leisurely hike here - one hour each way to the hotel - or the fun horse-carriage rides. Once you get to the hotel/restaurant Roseg-Gletscher (almost the only structure in this valley), you can hike further to the glacier. The views are magnificent - high mountains on either side, a babbling stream, beautiful trees and flowers, some... More

We took the cable car to the top of the Corvatch ski lift, then down to the middle station, and walked from there - an easy walk at nearly level grade to reach the col into the Val Roseg, a considerable descent from there, and then lovely walking from the hotel Roseg back to Pontresina. Idyllic.

This is a lovely moderately easy hike. My family with 2 kids age 11 and 12 walked it easily. But round trip is about 4 hours. Leaving Pontresina you are essentially walking along a wooded valley with a few ups and downs and a few sunny spots. After 2 hours you come to wear the glacier melts into the river... More

We had the pleasure to go hiking in Val Roseg in August, the view of the glacier is outstanding! I would totally recommend this.

Starting from Pontresina you can walk for less than 2 hours on a simple way and very pleasant panorama. there is the possibility also to use the "horsecar" that during summer is on the weels and with the snow is on the sky. Fantastic day and sure enjoy for your children.

This is a very pleasant wooded walk alongside the river, not heavily wooded. It's along a road although you can follow a path closer to the river or one the other side of the river through the woods. We only got half way and gave up and turned back. The whole way can be done by horse & cart, but... More

Started off, unwittingly, on the horse trail only realising this when we came to a bridge with a map on a sign where the two trails intersect. This trail did let us photograph a bee keepers hut though which was good. Also at the bridge is a sign which indicates what is open or closed. Apparently the restaurant was closed... More
