Beautiful and intriguing works of art. Not only those used in the alien movies, but an overview of all his works. Don't forget to visit the castle as well: there's an exhibition of magic realistic paintings there that includes a Giger!

My husband is an Alien fan so this was a must do but I was also entertained. Entry was a reasonable price and we spent over an hour here. Some disturbing images and fantastic art work. What a mind/imagination. The collection was a complete contrast...More
On the one street up in Gruyeres is the Giger Museum, which you wont miss because of the sculptures outside the museum on the right, and the alien-skeletonized bar on the left (also his). Gushing over Giger is not something I will do on tripadvisor....More
I have to admit that I hadn't seen any Alien movie before visiting the museum and I didn't know Giger's work. I was expecting one of those childish exibitions with 3D figures with whom the movie fans take pictures faking to be eaten by alien...More
The contrast between the picture perfect village and this museum makes the visit somehow quite surreal, maybe that was the point? I've known his work for years and have a couple of books as well and still I didn't expect to see so many artworks...More
Walking through this exhibit takes you deep into Giger's mind. Such a great variety of pieces from hand drawn to hand made and all of them will keep you intrigued. The train was my favourite!
Since I was in Gruyeres and had free admission with my Swiss Pass, I made a brief visit. I am not really a fan but did appreciate seeing such an extensive collection of unique pieces. I would not recommend it for younger children. Some pieces...More
We did Not know what to Expect. We were overwhelmed By the creativity of Hans ruedi giger. Visit the Castle First, than Go to the bar and to the Museum. You will Probably also recognize similarities from medieval Art to the Alien Art....
Do not go there with non mature individuals. We knew that Giger was the creator of the Alien movie creatures, but I did not expect to see what I discovered. See for yourself, but between life&death, women, sex and achieving somekind of perfection by manipulating...More
Loved the detail, the arrangement of the art but this may not be for children. Even for adults it can be a bit disturbing. Otherwise, the village is adorable and the art at Giger is the best I've seen in science fiction museums anywhere!
