I had the opportunity to surf for three days at „La Santa Surf Procenter“. From the moment you walk into the school you realize that these guys live to surf. Not only the facilities are excellent, but the clothing, equipment and surfboards are top-notch as well; excellent professionals instructors. My instructor was Monchi Acaymo, by far the best instructor I had to date. Monchi is not only a professional surfer with an extensive experience, but also an extremely detailed instructor with respect to clothing, preparation, warm-up & stretching. In addition to that, in water he will come to you after every wave, and again let me reiterate it „after every wave“ and explain you what went well / what went wrong regarding the technique to make sure you get to the next level. Definitely Lanzarote is in my next destination trip list. Cannot wait to surf again at „La Santa Surf Procenter“ and hopefully again with Monchi Acaymo.

By far the best surf school I’ve tried. The instructors are great. I learnt a lot in the classes and they helped me improve my surfing in every session. Would definitely come back next time I’m in the island.

Surf courses, or board hire. Plenty of choice. Helpful, laidback staff. You can park outside on the sandy street, load your board and drive a few minutes along the bay to the centre of the beach, where the lifeguards set up. Ask in the shop about the best spots for your level. Even if you don’t surf, this wild and windy beach is worth a walk and there are a handful of cafes for a seafood lunch. We loved Lanzarote way more than we expected, and you can see more favourite spots on our blog, 5-journeys.com or on Instagram @5journeys

I was a first time surfer in my late 30s, and had an amazing time. With Monchi as my instructor, I had a wonderful day at Famara beach.
