Easy way up
Sep 2020
The chairlift is an easy way to get up. Specially worth it with children I think. Walk up a bit more and have an amazing view over the village.

Nice experience
Jul 2020 • Family
The staff was great, we went with my 80+ years old grandma and they slowed down the “ride” so she could get on and off easily.

Good way to get up the hill and have a drink with a view over the city.

The way up is boring, the way down is better
Sep 2019
At a price of almost 7 euro per person only the way down is worth the money. (one-way-tickes available) On your way up you look at the mountain (hill) wall and there is nothing there except for some trash thrown from the cable cars.
On top there is a small restaurant with a great view over the city and the castle. (cash only under 15 euro, above 15 euro paying by debit card is possible).
You can also visit the viewing point which is great for taking pictures.
On the way down you have a great view over the town and the castle in the distance.
Staff is helpful but, when we were there, not very friendly.

Worth a visit, but if you have the stamina, walk up and take the cable cart down.

Outstanding view over Cochem
Aug 2019
A nice ride up to the top of the mountain and back again. I think that the return ride was the best. Ater a spectacular and somewhat tuff but fortunately short walk to the light-cross (Pinnerkreutz) you get an outstanding view over Cochem and its surroundings. It's worth the stuggle.

Saves a climb!

A great way to gain height - the views are very good. There is a cafe/ restaurant at the top for those who need it. We didn't try it. At the top there are many walks to be undretaken for those who like that sort of thing. Spent a couple of happy hours up here.

Nice views, access to hiking trails
Aug 2019 • Family
Went up with our family of six. They are strict in access. Kids 12 and up can ride without adults. Our almost 12 yo still had to ride with an adult, which kind of messed up the seating, since the 13yo had to ride solo/with someone unknown.

At the top it's a small hike to the pinnerkreuz where you have a nice view of the Mosel and Cochem. From the top you can also hike some trails which are signposted.
Since we had the kids with us and a family ticket is a return journey, we didn't hike down to the city, but rode the sesselbahn down.

There is also a restaurant (did not visit).

Would recommend.

Brilliant

A nice little ride on the cable car up to the top with brilliant views across Cochem. Smile when you get to the top of the cable car for your photo.
