We had a great trip with the whole family up there. The younger people hiked (about 30min up) and the older ones were able to take the cable car, which was quite convenient and not too expensive either. There is a restaurant up there and...More

Great views. Good value. Nostalgic train and a nice walk down took about an hour for the walk. It was a bit steep but I only had sensible sandles on. We took the dog which they charged 1 euro for. You can get the train...More

You can either walk, appropriately 30 mins up and 20 minutes down, or take the train, which is what we did, stopping half way to visit the very pretty Drachenburg castle before jumping back into the train which takes you to the ruin at the...More

Well with the trip to the top; great views over the Rhine, including all the way to Köln cathedral to the north. There's a cafe at the top if it's raining, but the coffee was disgusting.

There is a large viewing area and cafe close to the top of this tram accessed mountain but the pathway up to the ruined castle at the top is close due to landslips so reducing the purpose of the ride up.

Though, better get a guide or prepare, because there is little to no guidance available. Most remarkable are the views of the Rhine river from atop.

Short hike or a train, it's up to you! We did hike to get to the top, but it's worth it! Wonderfull view, a place to clear your thoughts, or just enjoy a cup of coffee with your family! Rhine as stunning as always!

Our cousin who lives in Bonn brought us here and it was really nice. The tram was really an experience. You can see the river Rhine below!

You can stand on the terrace and admire the distant spires of Köln cathedral, but you cannot walk the historic mule track or get anywhere near the famous ruins because of risk of rockfall. The massive cafe has a very routine feel to it. In...More

Schloss Drachenburg and Drachenfels castle are well worth the visit. The ride up the mountain on the tram and castle admission take you back in time to what I can only imagine would have been an amazing period. The castle is furnished with beautiful period...More
