Great for kids and adults alike
Dec 2018 • Couples
Lots of interesting facts, and interactive exhibits, more English descriptions would be welcome, you do want foreign visitors, right?
Adults will have fun together with their kids, and if you don't have kids, it is fun too (when you don't have to worry about watching the little ones :-P )

Love those Surprises you Bump Into
Jul 2017 • Couples
We were doing a little cruising after spending the most of the day on a bicycle tour and bumped into this find. Although we forwent the paid portion, the bookstore and small walking tour on the back were really a nice find. We learned a great deal about the flora of the area. Well done!

SURPRISINGLY INTERESTING
May 2017 • Couples
This is a relatively new attraction at the Feldberg Nature Reserve and well worth a short visit. Be sure to see the video. If you have children with you, we would consider this a must see.. There is a good outside restaurant (Felderbergen Hof) across the road from the Nature House. We only had soup and beer, but they were very good..

A beautiful place after Feldberg peak
Jun 2016 • Couples
After a mountain tour with Feldbergbahn, we visited this museum free with Schwarzwald card. You can enjoy the nature of Black Forest in this small but very informative museum.

Not an interesting museum
Mar 2015 • Family
This museum doesn't have a lot to offer. It however is free with the Swarzwalder karte. It is not really worth a visit if you don't have the time, however on a misty day on the snow it might be a solution.

Black Forest tour with forest ranger
Sep 2015
It was a bit difficult for me to find sites in English about touring the Black Forest. I was staying in Strasbourg and only had time for a day trip into Germany. I really wanted to get the most out of my hike in the Black Forest, so I signed up for a tour with a park ranger. This is organized through the Haus der Natur and where the tour starts. There wasn't much information at the website, so I emailed to find out more. Someone at the Black Forest park emailed me back the next day and said they added me to the list for the guided tour. When I arrived, I was the only one there and the ranger said they usually cancel the tours if less than 5 people show up, BUT he would give me the tour anyways. Phew! He was extremely knowledgeable about every area of the forest. It's a nature preserve (Bannwald), so they don't allow any human interference in the development of the forest. He pointed out different areas and explained how it was developing naturally, native animals in the area, flowers, and trees. His English was perfect and he could answer any question about the forest. He also brought his adorable dog! I couldn't recommend this tour more!

It was dry, which is more than could be said for the Feldberg
Jul 2015
After a rainy (and swift) ascent and descent of the Feldberg, we took shelter in here. It was OK, I suppose. I've seen better forest museums and far worse - it was dry, kept us amused for an hour or so and we really enjoyed the imaginary balloon ride. I wouldn't have paid to go in, but our Schwarzwaldkarte got us in for free! Annoyed you couldn't buy a fridge magnet...
