This baptismal site is not to be missed. This is an opportunity to be baptized where Jesus was baptized by John. The water is a little cold when you first step in, but it seems to warm up when you get down to the baptismal platform. The water appears dirty, but it is really quite clean. You stand on a... More

I didn't have much expectation as we entered this place. I had already made up my mind I was not taking part of the festivities. However, as The baptisms started taking place, I experienced a very real spiritual moment that I cannot explain. Please go with expectation. You will experience God here.

If you feel the need to be baptized in the Jordan River, then you can experience that here. I've always had mixed feelings about walking through a holy place and then coming across the gift shop tucked away near the exit. But this place has the aura of a commercialized institution dedicated to making your baptismal experience memorable as long... More

Submerse yourself in this experience. Be re-baptised in the Jordan where Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist. I can imagine John looking up and saying to those gathered with him, "Behold, the Lamb of God!" And then to have that pinnacled when Jesus surfaces after being immersed and having a dove lite on his shoulder and hearing the voice... More

Yardenit was created in 1981 by a local kibbutz and Israeli Ministry of Tourism to be a safer commercial baptismal site on river Jordan . It is frequented mostly by Christians. The complex includes a large store and upon entering the Yardenit you get "discount coupons" you can use to buy those nice but a bit overpriced souvenirs. Various groups... More

Beautiful place, such a shame that a bunch of crooks, taking advantage of the great spiritual experience that the river offers in order to sell souvenirs made in China and overpriced, dear brothers and sisters ,Do not believe the guides and drivers, as their goal is to get a commission on your shopping (even for rental roves), then If you have... Dear Holyland L, I am truly sorry you were given this information that prevented you from enjoying the beauty of our place on the Jordan River. The Jordan River holds significant meaning, both culturally and spiritually to many people. It was here that John the Baptist performed, and thus his nomer. This is also the place where the children of Israel, lead by Joshua, crossed and were finally liberated from Egypt. Several other Old and New Testament miracles appeared here. I had always pictured it as... More

Our Tour on Gate 1 brought us to Yardenit and we witnessed several baptisms going on at once. There was a group Baptism and an individual one. Someone from the group was going to get baptised so we watched the whole ceremony as they say a prayer first and then dunk you in the Jordan river which was very cold... More
