Do not bother with the tablet It does not add to any signifcant information presented by the plaques spread throughout the exhibit. We enjoyed learning the historical facts about this location and were surprised it was a working facility as late as it was.

We drove over to the Ile d'Orleans after visiting the Chute Montmorency. It was already late in the afternoon. We decided to drive around and stopped at this museum. I was very glad we did. It's small, but quite charming and actually rather interesting. More to it than meets the eye at first glance. Probably one of the more interesting... More

We pulled into the site and were casually approached to let us know about the $5.00 fee. It is worth it. The site is interpreted in French. However, if you turn your keys in at the small gift shop, they will lend you a tablet that has stories to go along with the different spots. The dialogue is all in... More

I visited the place early in the morning. The place was closed but accessible. Nice park to visit located on St-Laurent-de-l'île d'Orléans for exploring and getting to know the history of the shipyard, and learning about the tides and traditional rowboat building.

It was a beautiful day and we were driving around the island so we stopped here. I picked up some information so that's good but the price is high for the value. I think it's more about contributing to help it's preservation so look at it that way. The volunteer was very nice and gave us an electronic notebook to... More

This is small park but it contains some interesting items. The exhibits themselves focus on the wooden boat building trade that was common here many years a go. Some artifacts of the industry can still be seen here. There is a nice view of the St. Lawrence at this spot. A good place to learn some local history.

This place could provide a lot more history by having someone knowledgeable of the boat building trade provide a tour of the various items on display. Instead, visitors are given tablets to listen to a narrative and view short videos. It is hard to ask a tablet questions. This is where the benefit of a live human being with knowledge... More

Although it appears small when you drive up to this park, it offers a BIG experience if you take advantage of all it has to offer. Other reviewers have told it well. Be sure to take advantage of the I-pad they will give you to carry along as you walk through the park. Read all of the HUMAN stories that... More

Once one of the major shipbuilding locations on the St. Lawrence, this park has a number of indoor and outdoor exhibits which bring Ile d'Orleans' maritime history to life. A beautiful view of the river, with a jetty and picnic areas from which to enjoy it. A great place for kids to explore, and stretch their legs.

This park has several vintage boats and a lot of history about Orleans Island's boat building industry. Several buildings are located on the site and have tools and other items which were used in the building of the various watercraft. One can walk throughout the area and get an idea of just how large this industry once was.
