About
The Pittaro brothers, the Pitars, are a descent of master wine makers who had been producing excellent wines ever since 1510. The Pitars world is a small ancient world, rich of the true values of the Friulian tradition and of the passionate care that characterizes every step and every detail of the complex winemaking process. This is made in a technologically advanced winery with highly specialized wine-making system, witness to an agro-technique evolution of exceptional standing. The vineyards, cultivated with care for a low-yield per hectare, stretch out perfectly between the provinces of Udine and Pordenone, in the precious "Friuli" D.O.C. land. Here you can surprisingly discover the unexpected generosity of nature, with the richest vines being allowed to take root and grow from the stony soil.

Wonderful wine tasting and tour
Sep 2020 • Family
We visited Pitars for a tour and wine tasting, and we were thrilled by the experience we had. Our host, Deborah, was extremely well informed, friendly, and her English was perfect. We had the opportunity to taste 8 wines, including 2 special reserve wines, for only €8 per person. The tasting room was beautiful, as was the rest of the venue. We felt no pressure to buy any wine after the tour, however the wine was so excellent, we decided to buy a few cases to be shipped to our home in England. I cannot recommend the experience highly enough, a must visit in the region.

Beautiful Location and Great Staff
Jul 2018 • Couples
A group of us scheduled a wine tasting here at the recommendation of a local. The grounds are beautiful, as was the location of the tasting room. The staff was very informative and patient in explaining the wines to us and teaching us a great deal. The wine was fantastic. If we make it back to Italy we will absolutely put a visit on our agenda. You could really feel the family-run atmosphere and the pride in their work. We shipped wine home to ourselves and we are counting down the days to its arrival! Absolutely a must visit for anyone visiting this area.

Gorgeous winery and visitor center. Perfect wines!
Nov 2017 • Friends
Can't really pass down the experience, the visitor center, vines and location are beautiful and amazingly designed. Valentino took us for a tour, explained everything for us and gave us lots of wine to try and taste (and it was all free!) . We tried around 10 wines and liked each and every one of them! Great wines, professional and very friendly winery. We had a long and professional talk with Valentino on wine, history and culture. Excellent wine experience! Enjoyed it a lot! Prices of wine are very affordable and we bought 3 bottles to go!

Great visit to a friendly family winery
Feb 2017 • Couples
While a flurry of activity circled the winery grounds, Valentino patiently took the time to take us on a personal tour of the winery (in English). The family's pride in their work was clear throughout the tour and the tasting. As for the wine, we particularly enjoyed the Naos. We highly recommend a visit to this beautiful winery to anyone looking for a relaxed atmosphere and some great wines!

Valentino is a wonderful host and tour guild. By far the best winery I have even been to. The winery is beautiful and the wine is above all others.

Their wine is wonderful and the grounds are beautiful! We were able to get a tour of the winery (in English) before being able to have a tasting. I highly recommend this winery if you are in the area and looking for great wine.

A gift from the Gods

Beautiful with Venitian liver. This wine is to be used with red meats. Our repast started with pears, sheep cheese, honey and local bread. Greetings from the Valle del Salto.
