Set just a short walk from the centre of Amiens, a visit to Jules Verne house not only gives an insight into the author's life but also Amiens life at the end of the 19th century. The entry fee was a reasonable 7.5 euro's and...More

Very interesting house to view. We did a tour on our own. We read the booklet and went round all the rooms ourselves. The attic was my favourite room. We spent an hour here and then wandered down into the centre ville. Will read some...More

This was a lovely, quirky little museum well worth the 10 / 15 minute walk from the cathedral. It’s a house rented by the famous author for a decade in which he wrote some of his best known stories. Full of moentos, books, scripts photos,...More

Houses where famous people lived tend to be a bit boring. But in this case the house is fairly big, with many rooms. The rooms are all in a nice style. Within the rooms there are many exemplars of Verne's books, displayed quite nicely. There...More

Jules Verne lived in this house from 1882 to 1900 and wrote 44 books there. We cannot remember seeing a house museum as well done as this one. It was just over the top and filled with his memorabilia. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

On Friday's from 16:30 there is no entrance fee. We had this luck. Personally I would have expected to see more tange-able items of Jules Verne brain. But that is all to do with expectations. The models displayed I feel interresting and nice.

Neat look into the home of the writer. Cool architecture. Worth a visit. The highlight of Amiens for my science-nerd husband.
