Some lovely art but the lighting is truly awful

This seemingly tiny building is overfilled by interesting items to be seen. The paintings, statues, and foreign exhibitions will leave you speechless. It was the first museum in which I saw a real mummy in its coffin. After that I have seen such only in the museum of Vatican. Neither the Louvre or Prada museums had such. My hopes stays... More

My French is pretty basic, and when the lady in the tourist information was circling the points of interest on my map of Amiens and said ‘something’ about the Musée de Picardie I pretended to understand what she had said. And simply nodded confidently. The entry fee into the museum was only 2 Euro and from what I could grasp... More

When we arrived at the museum, the staff clearly explained that during refurbishment only a small portion of the collection was visible. The salon has been hung with extra paintings to give a sense of the collection; unfortunately, the lighting is not suitable, and it is very hard to see most of them without shine. I would be interested in... More

Amiens which was almost destroyed in World War 1 is a beautiful city. Old style homes have been recreated and the Norte Damm Catheral is a magnifient building it is said better then Paris.

There is much to see here - paintings, sculptures and archaeological treasures. We speak French, but would have enjoyed it more if the descriptions had also been provided in English.

I was excited about this museum and all the Egyptian and Greek ruins and artifacts they had and they did have a lot. I had wished that they could have had a brochure with multiple languages on it so we could have known I'd read what we were seeing.

Nice, but like many of these "must-haves" for a city, it doesn't really offer anything special. Nice building, particularly the entrance.

They have quite a nice collection but it's all presented in a bit of a stuffy old fashioned way. Just a good alternative on a rainy day.

My friend and I visited here while in Paris. A beautiful building with lots of hidden treasures inside. you really get a sense of the time period in which it was built. Lots of historical things to see and red about. Very enjoyable.

I don't quite understand the hype surrounding this museum. To me it didn't stand out: it housed the usual collection of paintings, and artefacts relating to natural, ancient and early modern history. Interpretation was lacking in some parts. The set-up of the museum was a little dull, to be honest. Still, it's well worth a visit if you like museums.... More
