Need a he'd for heights

Visited and took advantage of very reasonably priced guided tour including the Tower which looks down over the streets of the town. We had a guide just for the two of us

We went here thinking we would see the inside of a chateau and instead came across a simple art gallery and a room with rather interesting and peculiar stuff. The whole time we were followed and told constantly not to touch anything - which I'm fairly certain we never did! It spoiled a relaxing look at some cool stuff. Then... More

Located in the centre of town is easily accessible. Reasonable priced and free for children. The visit gives you a brief, interesting and accurate inside of the history of the castle and the city. Pleasant views from top windows. Nice small herb garden outside.

We went there last year with our family and had a wonderful time, we did the guided tour (which is very cheap) and got to see how the Chateau changed over the centuries and then a guided tour around the Chataeu which includes the art gallerie and the tour of the tower is amazing the steps are very slippery (so... Enjoyed the art gallery with it's wide range of thought provoking exhibits in a unique setting. All the more so as it was free, Well worth visiting.

This is the wonderful old Chateau of Laval in the old quarter / historic quarter of old town. It's so big that you'll see it long before you reach it. Massive walls with turreted tower facade. Walls and ramparts can be walked and explored, lots of walking and climbing, but worth it. Had nice tour in English. Can look down... More

It is very worthwhile having a tour around the chateau. The church has within it an excavated lead coffin of a lady with a model of her face plus very striking architecture. The other part of the tour involves climbing up to the top of the tower in which can be seen the original wooden beams.A good guide that spoke excellent English.Well... Go on the tour which brings you up to the very well preserved tower. The tour includes a 3D animation of the evolution of the chateau over the centuries..well worth the visit..

This is the real landmark in Laval. Spent a week fishing in the area and visited for a day out. This is a really nice place to visit with some good information on the plaques telling you all about the local history. Also relatively quiet.
