The Musee d'Art Moderne is someway from Lille's City Centre and so it's only on my third visit I've made the trip to visit; it was well worth it. Getting to the Musee is a two leg trip on public transport taking the metro line...More

Very nice museum, we enjoyed it. The parking is dangerous, our car's window was smashed and broken, even if the car was clean and had no valuables in It. There is no surveillance, no security staff and no police.

The permanent exhibition is worth the visit in itself. It is a private collection which covers an important period, and important figures in the development of modern art. There are a number of exhibitions in the extensive spaces in a very well designed modern building....More

If you are travelling by car to this art gallery, you really need a satnav for negotiating the ring road. But it’s worth making the effort to get there. There are paintings by Modigliani, Braque, Picasso and Leger, besides extensive temporary exhibitions. Look out for...More

Take the metro, then the bus, then walk a bit...and it is worth it. An outstanding museum with an incredible collection. The current show, centred on dance, features paintings, drawings, sculptures, films, and more, from artists renowned and unknown. Even more wonderful is the “Art...More

One of those modern galleries that looks huge from the outside, but seems to have little inside. It’s just been rehung, but apart from the Picasso’s, it had nothing to engage me, and I was done in 20 minutes.

OK if you are into Brut art. There are also some nice sculptures in the garden. It is a bit of a trek to get there from the centre of Lille.

Very convenient public transport to get there. The museum is in a field with sculptures and it is nice with good weather. Inside, some orginal master pieces and very nice staff to assist you.

It is a very short Metro journey from Lille City Centre to Pont de Bois. From there we couldn't find the recommended bus so walked from the Metro to the Museum. The walk was pleasant, taking around 20 minutes, passing through a park and mainly...More

I real gem in Lille. We went on the first Sunday of the month which meant it was free entry (a pleasant surprise to us). I'm a big fan of cubism, and so the Picasso's and Braque's were a real joy to see. It's an...More

We enjoyed the early 20th c. art in the regular collection, which houses several Picasso's, Van Dongens, and Légèrs, among others. The Art Brut work, exhibited in the most recently added wing, was not to our taste -- with the exception of the intriguing wooden...More

When we visited some of the galleries were closed, but the ticket price had been reduced to compensate and we had 2 for 1 entry with our Eurostar tickets so it only cost us 2.50 euros each! Quite a few Picasso’s and some from Modigliani...More
