An interesting town square with many restaurants nearby. The cathedral is very prominent and quite nice particularly when lit up after dusk (see photo). Nice are to walk around.

This place, which is near to the Grand Place, is quite similar in its architecture and type of Flemish houses. There are few Cafes where you can make a break and enjoy of it quietly.

The Place des Heros, seen on a damp weekday morning, is nothing special, but catch it as dusk, or later, and it comes alive. There are cafes and restaurants all round the square, and the parking is free at the weekend.

Another buzzing square in the hub of the city. Obviously many rebuilt after being destroyed in the war. Many places to eat in drink and generally watching the world go by.

Beautiful square with wide range of restaurants and cafes. Night time was fantastic. Was interesting seeing the devastation from WW1 and how the town came out of that horrific time. Would recommend coming here eating and staying in the area.

Very lovely square with lots of bars and restaurants, rebuilt after the war and you can barely tell which is old and which new. There seems to be a real sense of camaraderie between all the business owners, a happy square.

Take your camera along after dark to get a stunning photo of the illuminated buildings in Place des Heros. There's a choice of restaurants there too.

The first weekend in September the town puts on a fantastic firework and music event. This is the best firework display I have ever seen. We will be back next year. Plenty of bars and resturants. Lovely place to explore.
