Spent an afternoon here while staying in the area. The museum is very well laid out and the many exhibits are extremely well maintained. The museum covers the events leading up to the great war through to the events that preceded the second world war....More

Visited on a Friday w/ kids (6&8). They were given a booklet to fill out during the visit. The expo itself is pretty rich in artifacts and structured by themes. Explanations are in French & English. Many illustrations w/ videos too. Easy to spend a...More

We wanted something to do after Disneyland on our way north and this was on the way. We visited on a Wednesday in the school holidays and we're almost the only people there. The building is architecturally really interesting and the exhibitions combine interesting objects,...More

I really enjoyed this small but great WW1 museum, so did my girlfriend. As an artillery/ordnance interested person, this place is great. But the additional information, story lines and numerous short videos made it much better and very fit for all kinds of visitors. For...More

There were a few posters in French, German, and English, but all of the items on exhibit were described only in French. There were videos running at different places, but they too were in French. If you don't know French, I am not sure it...More

A really interesting museum showing the history of the Great War . There is English translation around the exhibition allowing us to understand the exhibits. The flow is sometimes confusing and maybe some additional signage may have helped . Merci

The exhibits in this museum are mostly very high quality and rich in detail, but lacking a bit in interaction. It is strong on the provenance of the war, but weak on major events that took place elsewhere (eg Somme, Verdun) so be sure to...More

This is a very modern museum with interesting exhibits. Audio guides are offered for the tour. Plan on at least an hour for the visit.

Sanitised and complacent view of this bloody war. Almost complete absence of mention of contemporary critics - the socialists, pacifists, strikers, mutineers, revolutionaries, poets, writers who opposed it during the war. No mention that Haig and Foch are viewed today by many as mere butchers....More

The museum is situated on the site of the First Battle of the Marne and is a modern building commemorating the events of the First World War, particularly in the Isle de France area. The museum is full of interesting artifacts but I felt that...More

Hello, hello, There are deposits in the entry of the museum. It is actually preferable to put your suitcases in the deposits. Cordially.

Sorry for the delay. Everything is indeed displayed on a floor. The access is possible via an elevator and a point of view on the second floor can be also reached by elevator. Cordially.

Euro 10 (as mentioned in my review)- lockers were free. I thought it excellent value- the beautiful building must have cost millions!
