Extremely beautiful glass paintings

one can say it is one of those Notre Dames but in this Church the glass paintings were extraordinary - those were really beautiful and worth to see. Free entrance

Always amazing to see that small cities like Chalons have such a beautiful church: late romanic, early gothic church; the simple brick nature of the wall brings even more focus on the beautiful colorful windows.

There are three main churches in Chalons and this is certainly the most impressive. The architecture is typical of the area in impressive Gothic style. Well worth a visit if you can find your way in. We had to search for a small side door.

As often, the romanesque outshines the gothic, and this is the case here. The vaulted transepts are magnificent. this is a very good reason for passing through Chalons

I hadn't read up on this church before visiting--just wandered in and was amazed by its relatively low-key beauty. Neither spectacular nor spartan, it has many fine details that reward the visitor. I'd say this church is the most impressive tourist attraction in this town.

This was a lovely cathedral, but not quite as stunning as the Basilica Notre-Dame L'Épine or as immense as the Notre-Dame de Reims. The highlights are the medieval engravings on the floors and the long, narrow gallery. We were completely alone during our wander around.

Visited that lovely church while on a two night stop over. I actually wanted to see the Cathedral but that was closed. This was after all the better choice. What an impressive build, amazing how did they do it in those days. We also drove out to the Basilique Notre Dame de l'Epine. Strangely out in a little village and... More

Beautiful old building. History. Faith is not composed of brick and mortar that are in the building. Buildings are simply a marker of time and periods. People are the living stones and faith not measured by a structure. That a saint could be judged a heretic in a house of sacred worship
