As we stayed in Roscoff, Ile de Batz was just a short ferry trip away (€18 return for two). It's fun to explore the island and worth a day trip.

€9 return gets you a passenger ferry out to this little island off the coast, and easily visible from, Roscoff. Is it worth it? Well it gets my vote. It reminded me very much of one of the smaller Scilly Isles, with lots of succulents and palm trees. Walking around the Island takes a couple of hours with a surprising... More

We were lucky enough to go there on a very hot day. We took an extensive picnic but there are places to eat and drink, but not on our lovely quiet beach. Both beach and water were very, very clean. stunning scenery.

Caught the ferry over for €9 per person return. Smooth quick journey. Beautiful island. Well inhabited but very quiet at the end of October. Explored most of it by foot. There is bike hire though too. Would love to return and hire a cottage for a week for a totally secluded and relaxing break with the children surrounded by clean... More

Little has changed on this island for decades - that could be either good or bad! It is quite unspoilt but has limited restaurant and bar facilities; pleasant walks and cycle routes, a few beaches.

Took the 10.00 am boat and 20 mins later on the Isle de Batz, walked around the beaches coast then had our picnic lunch sat under the Lighthouse , not a soul in sight, great wildlife and no cars passed us only tractors would recommend a whole day and take a Picnic lunch (easily assembled in Roscoff from the bakeries... The boat trip from Roscoff is about 20 mins to this lovely island. You can meander around the streets and visit plenty of lovely eateries the views are stunning. I guess it would be busier in the Summer but in early October it was lovely and tranquil.

We visited on a damp. drizzly day and walked around the island - enjoyable with some excellent panoramic views. A few places to have refreshments, also a supermarket and bakery if you wish to have a picnic (weather permitting) Did not visit the gardens as th weather was not conducive to do so. Will visit again though
